HF has a gun style non contact that drops to $15 every now and then. Handy thing to have that can save you some nasty burns lol.

You have to get a 7pin round adapter to a 5in adapter. This is what I typically see.....However.....I cut the 5pin flat plug off and replace it with a 7pin round...No more adapters......No more "maybe" a bad connection between adapters.......and It just looks better.

I do have to still keep a 7round to 5 flat adapter.....This is so I can more customers boat trailers around.

That 5th pin energizes the brake solinode to stop the flow of brake fluid to the calipers or wheel cylinders when backing up. When you bake up.....Your truck is applying pressure to the trailers M/C. With no solinode.....The trailer would just lock the brakes and sit there. It's a Hell of a problem to back a trailer that the brakes are locking.
