Funny thing that you mentioned the Coquihala. I know 2 people who have blown up ecoboosts towing up the Coq. I have towed over it many times, but not ever with an ecoboost. Never had any problems personally, aside from in winter it can get damn slippery. But in the summer on a hot day I've never had overheating or other problems.
You will love the 5.0 next time you have to run up the Coq.

I can appreciate the OPs post, everyone and everytime I buy a new truck (every 1/2 years) I always opt for the 5.0 (back when the 5.4). I know I don't keep the trucks long but the reliability, the fun factor, the sound and honestly the Gas milage isn't that bad (when you drive it NORMAL not like a race car). Though the EcoBoost is an awesome tech I just dont want to chance it and be one of those people with a broke down truck. Friend of mine recently was almost 2 months without a truck and he has an EcoBoost...he absolutly loved it when it worked but when it didnt he hated it so bad he went in and got a dodge :P

5.0s has served me well, they work, lots of things to buy to make them better, gas milage isn't that bad and lots of power.

Id be buying limited but an ecoboost, no thanks

Haha wow, the reek of BS is way too potent... Yeah, and I know 10 people who blew up 5.0's doing it. See how easy that is? LMAO

Dude, don't go there. Don't make this about you. That gentleman very well could of known two people who didn't have good luck with their Eco boost. There's no need to act a fool and make this another eco vs 5.0 thread. If you don't have anything worth while to say, shut your mouth and move on to something else.

That "gentleman" does nothing but bash ecoboosts like a 5.bro, so it ain't me "acting a fool". Don't be a dick if you don't know why someone has an opinion. And I've towed that route, not exactly a gauntlet, and never I did I think I was gonna "blow" my engine...

I have my suspicion OP is a troll and this thread is a bait.

In BC, no front plate is not a “fix it” ticket but a $108 fine. You almost never see vehicles in BC with no front plates except out of province/state.

Wrong. The 5.0's are capable to wind up to 7500 rpm and stay together up the 750+ hp level with no internal changes. Just walk on over to any Mustang forum and watch it done on a daily basis. Apparently your are not following the Mustang boys and what they do with these engines do you?

Haha. Yes, I’m a troll, however the no front plate is real! I never said anything about a “fix it” ticket. Guess you can say that I like living on the edge! Along with my front tinted windows, which are also illegal here in BC. 😈 get away with it most the time and it keeps the truck just a little cooler. Happy to swing by your place to make a believer out of you.
