First LONG trip
Had to make an emergency trip from our home in Kitsap County, WA to Sacramento this week. The truck drove like a dream...and after more than 1500 miles (rt) averaged a bit over 22 mpg. We were getting over 24 mpg on the way down...until we hit the mountains in southern Oregon/northern California...
I'm an old fart, (in my 60's) so I probably don't drive as fast or aggressive as some of youse might...but I run the posted speed limit +~5...and at 75 mph, the truck was a dream. MUCH nicer ride and handling than anything we've ever owned. |
Sounds like you were unloaded, but just remember 55 max w/ a trailer in Cali :cursing:. Definitely adds some time on that last leg, I've driven that same route before.
|
Yep...unloaded, just passengers...and two little rat dogs. I lived in CA for 25 years and was the Class A instructor for the public utility where I worked, so well versed in the “55 mph when towing ANYTHING or tandem axles” law...not that many people pay any attention to that...especially truckers. |
Inquiring minds want to know, which engine? Happy for you! Great mileage! I agree, the truck does drive great.

Sorry Enoch...2018 F-150 SCrew 3.5/10 speed
