Smile First Long Road Trip (3800 miles) - Zero Issues

Since the majority of the topics are about problems with our trucks, I figured it would be good to post a positive report.

Just completed our first long road trip in the truck. Had about 3700 miles on it when we started. Drove from Oceanside, CA, up to Vancouver, BC. Then left the truck and took a 14 day Alaskan Cruise. Had a great time on the Cruise btw, but this is about the truck. Returned from the Cruise and drove back down the coast from Vancouver to Oceanside, CA.

Round trip was 3,800 miles. Truck ran flawlessly. Averaged 19.8 MPG according to the trip gauge. I know, it may not be 100% accurate, but i am pleased with the number, so I will just accept it as close enough.

Sure love that 36 gallon fuel tank. Just went from Costco to Costco for gas. Also, got a taste of the 3D nav in Vancouver. Very cool graphics. Wife and I were extremely comfortable in the cab. The cooled seats were used most of the time, as the temperatures were in the 80's and 90's, along with twice daily seat massages.

Looking forward to our next road trip. But first I best get that seat belt recall taken care of........

What? No harsh, clunky shifts? Rattling timing chain? Stuck moonroof? Water on the carpet? Horribly dim OEM headlights?

Are you sure you bought a Ford? Sounds like you're WAY too happy...I've reported your post to the mods!

Did the glacier happen to do any calving while you were there? Wife & I did a Norwegian Alaskan cruise some years ago, and while we were sitting in GB, a huge piece of ice broke off into the ocean. It was amazing, it sounded like lightning & thunder, and you could actually feel that giant cruise ship vibrate when the ice hit the ocean. Unreal. Something I'll never forget.

Hope you enjoyed your cruise, and wishing you many more enjoyable miles in your truck!

Wish you have limitless miles of fun with your truck, just as I've been having in mine

I put down three 6000 miles trips each year in my 2016, 5.0, 6.5bed, xlt. About 26,000/yr overall.

No real problems. Front brakes sometimes shudder a bit, but not enough to make me want to change stuff out yet.

But then I'm retired.
