Anytime during the day...(normal usage), would not be a problem. It would crank immediately. I didn't want to believe I had a faulty check valve on a new truck but it was indeed the problem.

are you holding the key in the start position? you just have to tap it to the start and let go. if you hold it they crank longer.

Which valve failed or is it the fuel pump in the tank?

Anyone feel like the motor makes more racket on cold start? Mine seems to not have the same engine clatter after a hot start. It's like the stop start deal has something to do with it.

They replaced the pump in the tank and stated on the paperwork that the check valve in the low pressure fuel pump was bad. I spent weeks reading through the past threads trying to decide if this was normal. The dealership wanted me to leave my truck because it wouldn't reproduce the problem when warm. I asked them to please check the fuel system to make sure it held pressure. I had printed out some of the information I had gathered from multiple forums. They did.... It failed, so they ordered a new low pressure fuel pump and I came back a week later and they replaced it.
