did you have a warm idle knock before the reflash but a louder one after the reflash??

Interesting, and good news, I haven’t heard about this though. So about 125,000 miles extended for the phasers??

I thought that originally. But clearing the codes cause the truck to drive beautifully. It would take a day and then shift like crap again. Codes would come back. Clear a second time and drive well. When it started acting funny the codes were back again. PCM, APIM, TCU, PAM. all have thrown a ton of codes about lost connectivity.

now my truck shift and accelerates like junk. Weird dieseling sounds and ticks when cold too. Almost feels like the turbos are out of whack too.

Ford totally screwed up this update. I had a feeling the minute I got it back that the shift points where wrong. Was told to drive it and see how it went. It’s gotten worse.

Had mine done. Knew it was a mistake. Had rattle on start up. Still does. Shift points now are totally out of whack. Shifting quickly up the gears at slow speed so that I'm in 8th or 9th gear at 30 mph causing lugging like driving a stick shift in 6th when your doing 20 mph. Can hit the accelerator then blips down 2 or 3 gears and lunges forward with turbos activated. Not good when in slow moving traffic. After 65 mph it seems to run normal unless passing when under acceleration drops from 10th to 8th and then never runs back up to 10th until maybe 30 seconds after the throttle reduction. Noticed the temp gauge is running a bit lower... Also - dealer said 2 days after they did the work they said stopping performing due to possible shifting issues which I now have and are real. Current advice from service center is to keep driving in hopes the transmission will "relearn" while Ford engineering is determining a fix. Sounds like I made a mistake - 1 buying Ford, 2 getting the recall done before I saw some feedback...

Ford dealer says they can't reinstall the prior PCM programming. Before the 21B10 update, I used Forscan and backed up all modules, including the PCM. Curious if any Forscan users have successfully reinstalled their PCM backup?

Default No issues

The 21B10 flash was done on my truck on 8 April and I have not noticed any issues with shifting, shuddering or anything else. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that Ford can get it together with the ecoboost.

I wonder how many folks lost their jobs for a f’up of this magnitude. In my line of work there are many places where there are no second chances.

****ty thing is my truck got recall at an oil change a few weeks ago. I was having no problems and DID NOT want the update. They went and did it by themselves as a "favor". I was pissed but its my fault for specifically not telling them to do it. I say anything bc I figured if the guy wrote anything about the recall on the slip, the guys would be like "oH hE wants ThE uPdAtE". Sigh.

Same here. A previous post suggest that some owners are not as sensitive as others about change in truck's behavior. According the shudder described so far by many, I doubt that one could not notice such change after the PCM reflash. I consider myself genuinely **** about anything on my truck and I can confirm that my transmission behaves the same after the reflash (again, if the dealer really did it).

So how come some experienced the shudder and others don't ? There must be a common technical difference between the affected transmissions and the non-affected...idk, as an example, maybe engineers will find that some transmission PCM manufacturing date range could handle the new program better than other manufacturing date range, etc
