Never mind towing. I wouldn't take any P-metric AT tire offroad. Their construction is inferior. Fewer sidewall plies, thinner carcass etc. P-load tires off piste are begging sidewall tears and other similar issues.

IMHO if you are looking for a tire as aggressive as the Wildpeak, you shouldn't be looking at the p-metric tires. If you can get by with them for your use, you are better off with a more highway oriented tires.

I dont know why everyone on here is so hung up on the P vs LT tire thing. I lost 2mpg going to LT275/65r20, but they are what 2 inches taller. If you go off the forum, you'll get 13mpg and it will ride like a 1975 F250....Throw a tune on it and im back to 19mpg and it still feels faster than stock. Alot of people say it will kill the ride quality but I personally hate the soft quirrly feeling of a P tire on a truck.

Then again, before this truck I drove nothing but diesels on 35s so I guess I am used to it.

I had them on my old '14, I could not have been happier with them. They did exceptionally well in the rain, snow, and in the slight amount of off road I did. The wear was great, I put about 25k on them before trading the truck in, and they were not even to the first wear rib yet. I expect they would easily go 80k before needing replacement. I plan to buy another set for the wifes truck when hers need to be replaced.

It's that time of year again. I'm not sure I want to go through another winter with the Hankook's and the Wildpeaks are on the top of my list. When considering the OEM 20's size, has anyone made a switch and care to share the results?

I switched from the 20" Hankooks to 17" Wildpeaks and love the tire. Got about 15k miles on them.

I wish people would go back and update their "tire review threads" after 2+ years of over 30k mileage.
Every single tire, no matter what, is always "good" when brand new. Walmart off-brand tires will "ride smooth" and "be quiet" too.... but, we all know, a tires TRUE TEST is after it is worn a little and not brand new.

I do think the Wildpeaks are a great tire. Never have run them, but I have read many reviews that included wear-in and still had good reviews.

I honestly like my OEM Hankook ATMs, I dont know why so many gripe about them. They are not "the best" but very reasonably priced.

My next tires will be:
Another set of Hankook ATMs
Cooper AT3 - one of the new designs
Or, the Wildpeaks.

Guys - Wildpeaks all the way... love them! For the money difference (vs. BFG KO2) it's a no brainer and look just as beefy/aggressive if not more so!

My widpeaks currently have 47K miles on them, at leas 2K of that off road. I have 4/32 on the fronts and 3/32 on the back currently. They are still nearly as quiet as the day I put them on and still have good traction off road though it has declined a bit. I will probably swap them out in another couple thousand miles once the fronts wear down to match he backs in their current rotation placement.

I rotated these every 5-7K miles and roadforce balanced them at 20 and 40K miles.

Couldnt be happier with this set or the set I have on my sprinter (LT285/70r17) which weights 8300lbs. Honestly I still dont think these can be beat. The traction they provide in the dirt is outstanding. Their high speed stability in both dirt and pavement is great even when aired down in the sprinter to 22psi. They are quiet, great in the snow (of which I have over 4000 miles of combined ****ty winter weather travel between the two sets), balance well, ride well and look good.

Traction demonstration for reference, this is at 60psi rear and 45psi front with a full load (pushing 8600lbs), in 4 Low. COnditions were loose sand over hard pack. Several 4x4 trucks and a jeep with highway tires spent a lot of time here.

Thanks! Great long term review!
What you say is what I have read from others about these tires, they are good.
How did you like them in the rain/wet?

Just ordered a set, 275/70/R18s for my OEM Sport wheels. I like the OEMs.
