Default Failed the 2x6 through the aluminum box test.

So this happened...
Was hauling a couple of 2x6's leaning on the tailgate. Arrived at my destination, backing up with my trusty back up camera, not even thinking about the lumber sticking out an additional four feet. You see where this is going...
Lumber, meet tree.

Oh man, that sucks! Are you going to have it fixed, or try to fix yourself?

I spent a couple hours working on it today. Used a combination of ratchet straps, wooden wedges, and bar clamps. I forgot my angle driver at work, so need to wait until tomorrow to get any fasteners in it, but have got a lot of the kinks out.

Can't afford to pay to have it fixed. I'm pretty sure they would need to remove the box to do it properly. I'm sure I can get it to the point that I can live with. May not be perfect, but lesson learned! At least there is no damage to the paint and body.

I have never inspected my 07 bed that close, but seems like that didn't take much force to cause separation.
