Hoping someone with the Rockford Fosgate PS-8 can help me out. I was looking for a picture of how the WPT1212 harness is wired to the PS-8? Just got everything in and want to ensure I was doing it right the first time (hopefully). Thanks for any help!!

hi guys,

i'm hoping you guys can provide some advice. i just bolted in the factory kicker sub, i fished the new cable from behind the pillar. after pulling the weather stripping from the door I can see the new cable and the factory cable but i can't maneouver the new cable in place (using a flathead screw driver). any suggestions? i noticed the factory cable is locked into place by a plastic piece, do you i need to free it first? appreciate the input.

Gary, not sure it really matters but I pulled the little white plastic plug out and just gave myself the slack.

Thanks for the response leamdav, i will try that. does anybody have the manual available, if so post it? i bought it second hand, it came with three larger bolts which i assume are used with the bracket to mount it to the floor and two smaller screws which i thought would be used to mount the upper portion to the back of the truck but those seems way to small and they can't thread to the back of the truck (on the two slots). if that makes sense. i appreciate all the help.

so it turns out i'm not going completely insane. i went to the local ford dealer and he showed me there is a clip that installs in each of the those slots, the smaller screws can then thread into the clips.

next step - figure out which values i need to change in forscan. again i would appreciate any help. i have the non-sony 7speaker (two tweeters, center channel, and four door speakers) setup. again its a 2016 xlt with 302a package.

on a side note - dealer wants $8/piece for these clips (W716695-S439)!?

thanks in advance.

so i tried to connect to my f150 using a VINT-TT55502 ELM327 USB adapter. i loaded the window drivers with no issues and it shows up in device manager as com3.

however forscan (lastest version 2.3.20) is giving me the following error: unable to identify the vehicle

i tried playing with the switch but no luck.

here is a screenshot from forscan, any help would be appreciated.

Is your trucks ignition on and engine off? Mine was giving me same grief when I had key turned to accessory and not all the way to on.

yes the ignition is in the "on" position (step before actually cranking it over). i even tried it with the truck running but that doesn't let me establish a connection to the truck and gives me a "check engine" light on the dash

i messed around with the configuration tab and hard coded "com3" and the option of the switch but still no luck

i do have computer/network experience but this vehicle programming stuff is completely new to me

How and where do you find out if you have a Sony radio? I have a 2018 XLT with NAV and 7 speakers.

Anyone know if the prewired sub connector is on the regular cabs? I’d love to add the kicker hideaway on my ‘19 regular cab XLT.
