The factory kicker setup is a waste of money in my experience. i have tried every EQ setting possible with forscan and you can never get it to sound good enough. Today I disabled mine permanently and will look into an aftermarket setup after the holidays

Hooked up an infinity basslink SM made the connection as specified using RCA jack set up. Configured to External subwoofer and Crewcab seven speakers /kicker sound. Getting sound but when turn off truck, amp stays on. The REM voltage does not shut down, six voltage present. What could be the issue? Are the bass output high level? Is so, then should I do?

I've noticed the remote lead from that harness stays powered for awhile after you turn off the ignition. It also powers on whenever you open one of the doors. I bet yours will shut off, but it just won't do it immediately.

KP Texan,

Thanks for the quick response. Re-read the thread and found that it stays on a while. But thanks for the addressing my concern.

Merry Xmas

Does anyone have a recommendation for a amp that work with the lower 6v remote line? Most of the ones I've found in the 500-600w range need 12v on the remote line.

All of the mainstream amps I looked at required 12V - I just went with the PAC TR1 trigger module - it was $8 and worked perfectly.

I have an 800w pioneer, it works on 6 volts. I get a lot of random thumping though (supposedly cause by ground or BCM issues)

Ok I am up and thumping. Went with rca inputs. However need to set gain and bass boost about 3/4 of max. Read that using the high inputs would be better in getting a louder output with less gain and bass boost. Is this ture. Don’t want to go thought wiring for high input is there will be no differences in gain/bass boost adjustment. Using a Infinity BassLink SM.

Won’t make much of a difference.

The higher input resistance of line level inputs tends to make them work fine regardless of whether they are connected to speaker level or line level outputs.

So...I've read through entire 92 pages of this..I have 18 XLT with 302A and sport. Definitely have plug and get power to it. Bought Kicker Hideaway, proper wp1212 and have it wired up. I get no bass 😭 .
1. What's the general consensus for 6V switched power and hideaway - does it work or need to get pac tr4? I get solid blue light on amp on start up so....I'm good? No clear instructions with the unit.
2. Right now I have both channels positives hooked into trucks positive and both negatives into trucks negative. Is this the way we're doing or better to just use one channel and cap the other?
3. I made my changes in Forscan and (I think) it took so I have :
Auxiliary subwoofer
7 speaker with Kicker
Aside from sound quality, which is debatable, this should work?

What am I missing? Must be something obvious....

TIA
