The jump in voltage you are seeing between settings is high level vs low level. It's not equalization. Be careful if you run rcas into your amp with the higher voltage setting enabled. You can over drive your inputs and burn that portion of your amp up.

If you have the sony system you'll need to deal with the stock amp/DSP. Easiest thing to do is run a power wire from the battery and then use something like an LC2i converter off either the front or rear speaker channels to provide the signal to the new sub/amp combo.
