I didn't think that particular output on the head unit could even be configured for speaker level output? 245mV is kind of low for pre-amp voltage anyway, and 35mV is almost nothing. For reference, the Kicker hideway is rated for a low level input range of 125mV to 5V (5000mV).

Can you use the plug that goes into the sony sub?
If you have the sony system you'll need to deal with the stock amp/DSP. Easiest thing to do is run a power wire from the battery and then use something like an LC2i converter off either the front or rear speaker channels to provide the signal to the new sub/amp combo.

If you have the Sony system, you have a subwoofer behind the rear seat along with a connecting harness. You can get the "mating" harness plug from digi key and just plug it in. Like others have stated, you will still be subjected to the factory eq roll off so you would either want to use an amp that has the ability to defeat this (all audiocontrol amps have this feature) or you can use an lc2i.

Yeah 245mV is extremely low for low level. I apologize, I misread the initial post. If you were using a speaker level signal from the headunit, different story.

If you enable the aux subwoofer option in forscan, will the eq roll off go away ?

You wouldn't enable the aux sub option, you would turn factory eq off on the amplifier via forscan. It's important to note that this will change the eq for the entire system and it may not sound very good. You may also lose visual volume level on the sync screen. But it's always worth trying.

Do you need to make changes in forscan? Curious to the frequency of signal that is currently running out of the rear speakers before making forscan changes.

How do you know if you have a Sony stereo or not? Mine is a 2018 XLT without the sub. I was thinking about getting one though.

do you know any details about that harness or what to search for on their site?
