Odds are, it's only drawing over 20a at start-up - amplifiers have huge capacitors to charge. If you don't turn the volume up high, it probably will only draw over 20a at start up. So I think there's a possible good solution - if they make them. See if you can find a 20a "slow-blow" fuse. They're made for such situations. Just a thought.

I'd have to do a bit of searching, but I'm pretty sure I've read about numerous others installing the PS-8 in their F-150's with the WPT1212 harness; I think you should be fine. Of course, there's a reason that RF specs a 30A fuse on that amp, but that's beyond the max that it should ever draw under normal circumstances and serves the purpose of protecting the internal components. Now, could the amp draw somewhere between 20A and 30A under normal usage and still blow the fuse in your truck? It's certainly a possibility, but I wouldn't worry about that at this point. What concerns me right now is that you're blowing the fuse in your truck's fuse box, so I'd start troubleshooting connections/wiring to make sure there isn't a short somewhere.

Testing with a Volt-Ohm meter would give you some answers.

Is this a good deal on the factory upgrade?

For plug and play (with ForScan, of course) and all parts included (I see the pigtail in the picture) it looks pretty decent to me, price-wise. It's the kicker factory, it won't give you "boom boom" sub, just fill in the bass nicely for more "easy listening" kinds of stuff. Just my $0.02.

That is what I am looking for. I am also considering this:

Yeah, I see a lot of others on this forum going that route, they have mostly been happy with it, I think. Personally, I'd go with the factory one for ease of mounting (should bolt right in), but that's just me.

I'm not sure why everyone is going the kicker oem route when you can pickup something like a cerwin vega vpas 10 in the states cheap. And it's a 10" sub. I'd be willing to bet it'd outperform the kicker too.

I have the vpas10 and it's good.

Nothing tricky about the installation for the OEM one other than the programming?

So the threads say. One guy said his 2018 didn't have power to the 1212 plug in the C pillar, though. I haven't gotten there yet (still waiting for parts).
