Factory sub
So glad I found this thread. I had a Alpine swt-10s2 and Alpine Mrv-m250 mounted in a Silverado Double cab box that's been sitting in my garage after i sold that truck last august. Surprisingly the silverado box just fit under my 2018 crew cab seat. I got the wpt1212 harness yesterday and wired it to the amp harness which has auto sensing speaker level inputs. I then enabled auxiliary external speaker setting only and BOOM everything worked! Only question, should I have enabled external sub instead of speaker? Thanks
Just going to throw out - I have a kicker PX200.1 I'd sell cheap, probably more powerful than the stock amp, will run on the factory wiring, and I have the harness for it to. Let me know. The amp is super tiny.
Thanks I was looking more at the factory option for the sub which I got for 20$. I need the rear seats up to take advantage of the cargo space in the back. Any subs small enough in the back are expensive or really tight fit. Guessing the PX200.1 would not have the harness to use the factory sub.
As for the plug, my '18 XLT 302A 7speaker with Sync 3 has the plug. But it is hidden behind the plastic panel in the door jam. Almost feels like its bolted in there, so ill be removing the panel this weekend to check it out.
My wiring harness should be here Tues and than I just need to order the active sub. Just trying to figure out what to get for a SuperCab, currently looking at the Cerwin-Vega VPAS10

You won't need to enable a sub with forscan as you have an aftermarket head unit. The option in the head unit will automatically turn on once you hook up through RCA connection. If you decide to tap in using the speaker wires than the head unit will not know there's even a sub hooked up, and will not give you the extra sub sound settings like it would if you go through RCA.
Oh that is interesting. So I would have to use the head unit hookup instead of the factory plug hook up in the truck already? Is that factory plug behind the rear driver side door not an option with an aftermarket head?
This all depends on what you plan to put in for a sub/amp combo. If your putting in a small active sub like a Cervin-Vega or Kicker Hideaway than you don't really need to run separate lines (although still recommended) as these only put out around 150w rms and the stock harness isnt a limiting factor with those as much.
