OK so l also need to program the signal wires to? I had the dealer program the factory wire with 7 speaker, auxiliary sub. What else do l need to do? I guess l should buy a OBII. Which one should look Get?

Anyone know what the two pins would be in the attachments? I am wondering if I can tap off of one of those to go to the low input of my amp.

That won't work, you need to pull the signal after the sony amp (DSP).

You'd be looking at connector C3154C and pins 1, 9 and 2, 10, keep in mind the stock sub is a dual voice coil so there's a L+,L-, R+,R- and you'd need a converter to get the RCA's for a low level input.

And then you're relying on the built in crossover from the DSP to send the signal to the amp.

 

So my thought process is, there has to be a wire bringing the signal from the receiver to the rear sony amp/dsp (which in my case I have). You know similar to an aftermarket receiver that has a low level output that you can use for your own amp. Are the connectors I am referring to not coming "from" the receiver? I appreciate your help.

 

Yes I thought the same thing, and you are right they are bringing a signal to the dsp.

But I believe it's a different type of signal or a flat audio signal or something because when I tapped the wires for the rear doors and hooked up a test speaker I was able to get exactly zero sound of any kind before the DSP. After I got full range...

So let's assume it is low level signal how would it drive your speaker without amplification? Wouldn't it be like taking a low level rca jack and connecting sub without an amp and expecting it to work? I am by no means arguing with you just trying to figure this out. Do you have any guess by looking at the diagrams which could possibly be the sub signal feeder wire PRE-DSP? I don't really know which one of these connectors is input VS output. I was also looking at RME22.

Well that's exactly what the DSP does, it takes that signal amplifies it, and sends it to the appropriate speaker, handles the volume control and tone adjustments, chimes, etc.

C3154A is the ACM to DSP connector (input to DSP).
C3154B is the front left and right doors, tweeters, center channel and left and right rear doors (output from DSP)
C3154C is the two voice coils for the sub (output from DSP)

 

I Wanted to do something similar but it didn't seem like it was going to be possible easily. I've got an Lc2i on the way its a line out converter with a signal processor. It will account for bass roll off (when you turn the volume up and everything gets louder except the bass, and in some cases bass gets a little lower). It will prevent that so when you turn up so does the amp. I'm going to document the install with lots of pictures and maybe even a time-lapse.
