Yes if your XL does not have SiriusXM it will not have the low level output.

I have an XL and have installed a subwoofer. My original intent was to get the factory low level thing figured out but in the end decided that simply using a rear speaker as an input along with a cheap converter was the much, much simpler option.

I have the 101a package on my XL STX that includes SiriusXM, so I should have output when activated. I'll post back with the results.

If not, what gauge are the speaker wires in the pillar? Want to have the right size splices on hand just in case....

Just installed the kicker hideaway today!

My goal is always try to install things to make them look as OEM as possible. My only gripe is that I only had 1 3/8" shrink wrap to finish off the loom (Had to go with electrical tape ). I also put the gain dial in the trailer brake pocket. It fits perfectly. I'll probably never use it though.

Note: I don't think this was stated in the thread (or at least I didn't see it). The Kicker has a + and - lead for both the right and left channels. The OEM subwoofer plug only has a (1) + and - lead. So I just soldered all the positive leads together and all the negative leads together. Turned out fine.

Overall, the sub is "ok". It's about as much as I can expect from an 8" sub. I most certainly adds to the quality in the factory setup. I'm just used to the 12" sub in my other car so I pretty much maxed out all the settings to get it as loud as possible.

I installed my kicker over the weekend and only attached the left channel inputs to the factory connector and I have the gain maxed out. It's acceptable in that it helps fill out the bass but I was expecting more based on comments here.

I'm not using a kicker setup, but I found on my amp that only using one channel input gave me about 1/2 the output I wanted. wiring the factory connector to both inputs helped a lot.

So I have an issue. I have the follow:

2015 SuperCrew Lariat
Factor Sony System with Sony Sub
Motocraft WPT-1212

I took the Driver Side REAR Pillar cover off to plug in the WPT-1212 and the female connector to accept it IS NOT THERE? Now I am totally confused as to what to do. I am simply trying to remove the Sony Sub and install a powered sub like everyone else.

I looked at this gentleman's picture and you can clearly see the connector in grey seated on the white cable fastener. I have the white cable fastener but there is no grey female connector attached to it for me to plug the WPT-1212 into. The little black plug to the right in the pic is there on my truck. I am attaching the picture from the other gentleman to show that I am familiar exactly what I am looking for and where it is supposed to be. TIPS??

Grey connector missing.

That gray connector is only on xl and xlt.

You should be able to use the sub output and wire to the high level on your amp

or there might be a sub input going into the factory amp. Can't remember off the top of my head

all the info is right there. The connectors that have two pairs of +\- are the output for each coil. Then the other is the input
