Agreed - Based on past cars Ford and Toyota must use REALLY ****ty sat radio tuners...

I used a pretty cheap aftermarket tuner with an aftermarket JVC I used to replace my OEM radio in a toyota I had and it sounded more like Pandora playing than the sat radio in my F150 sounded...

I also had a newer Nissan that had it and it was 100x better than the Ford/Toyota setup.

There is no way they are going to get subscribers when the oem's are putting in horrible sounding sat tuners...

(I'm assuming it's the receiver because again, same speakers but different head unit and sat tuner sounded 100x better on the same channels in the same car)....

Keep in mind..Sirius now streams HORRIBLY compressed music. 32kb per channel and down from there. ( it varies per channel) Don't be upset at your gear. Back when sat radio stared, the stream quality was much higher... But now they are more concerned with the # of channels & special info features over quality sounding music. By adding more channels, new features, gas prices, movie times, traffic info, that all eats into the available bandwidth that was once reserved for better sounding music. Their marketing team made the decision to sacrifice sound quality for more bells & whistles.

I found the hole under the carpet for the passenger side bracket and the two metal clips snap into the back wall... the bracket?

On page 6 of the installation manual it shows where the L shaped bracket goes.

It looks like it step 11.

Hope that helps

My box didn't have any kind of installation manual... i searched and couldn't find anything online. My unit had obviously been an rma or something as the brackets have marks on them where it had been mounted before. I suspect the person that returned it must have not put the manual back.

Can you please send me a PM with email and we can send you the installation manual.

I have purchased this sub... Installed it (make sure to get the instructions before you start and life will go much easier!) and I have now configured it to work.

After turning it on in forscan, there is, quite simply, a HUGE difference. I had my bass previously set about 2/3 to the right and this was way too much after the sub. I'm now just one tic to the right of center on the bass setting.

If you just want to listen to your music at moderately loud volumes filled in with plenty of bass, this is perfectly adequate and doesn't modify your vehicle in any way.

If you are looking to rattle people's fillings three cars over, this isn't for you. You'll need at least a 10" or preferably a 12" sub for that and more air space. I went down this road many, many years ago and would like to preserve what's left of my hearing, lol.

If you install this, you must activate it and turn on the proper speaker mode. If you don't you'll hear nothing.

Don't hesitate to buy and install this sub but know that you will have to either buy a ODBII connector that will work with forscan or have the dealer do it so factor in the cost for it.

Bought this and just had the dealership program it. Should the sub appear on the screen with the speaker fade adjustments? I haven't seen anything on my Sync 3 that says it's on there
