May hint at what my problem is.
If you are trying to use the low level outputs from the aux harness the XL model doesn't have them, I believe only XLT plus does. You'll have to tap into high level rear door speakers for the audio signal.

Hmmm, I assumed the XL with base audio didn't have it. When you build them online you can add the Ford Parts subwoofer to the XL but you have to have the 101a package. It also shows I can order it and there are obviously a couple of small speaker wires on the truck side of that harness. Anyone got an idea why it does not have them? Confuses me that everything is there, and it can be ordereed, but can't be turned on. Do either of you have the small radio? That's why I was wondering if the values somewhere further down as built might be necessary to be changed.

Do the XL models have Sirius/XM radio? I'm thinking that is the difference. its the ACM (radio) that seems to be different between an XL and XLT. The trucks I have enabled them on were 302a XLT with 8" screens which have Sirius/XM.

Ahhh, yes. Apparently when I add the sub to a base XL it makes me add the 101a package, as well as Siruis XM. Good eye. I now wonder if I can add sirius to this truck and the subsequent subwoofer. I don't mind using the rear speaker taps. I just would prefer a non fading subwoofer channel. Actually, do you know if that factory output fades with any change in the channels (adjusting fade or balance)?

Yes you can add the SiruisXM ACM. I swapped out my ACM for one that has HD radio and SiruisXM.

I never use the fader so not sure what it does to the sub channel.

Yeah, I don't change balance much, but at times have run the fader to full front if kids are asleep in the back...not a huge deal, but would hate for the subwoofer to completely disappear in that situation. Where is the Audio Control Module on these IF I were to swap it out?

10/4, doesn't get much easier than that. Although this does extend this project a tad

WOW...the part I'm looking for looks to be 500 dollars on ebay?!?!?! Think I'll just live with the fade issue.
