Factory sub
I'm sure this has been beaten to death but I'm not having any luck. I appreciate the help in advance.
2016, with nav. I've wired up the kicker hideaway using a factory plug. I used forscan to enable 7 speaker with kicker and aux sub.
I'm barely getting any output. Also, I noticed that if I only wire it to one of the inputs to the kicker (grey wires) it has slightly more volume, though not much more.
I was going to try returning to the non-kicker 7 speaker setting but I don't see it in the menu. All of the options are with kicker now.
HALP?!?!

Chamberlain had an issue with the hideaway on his XL. The factory harness the WPT plugs into only had the power and ground wires working and had to splice into the left and right speakers for the speaker level inputs. Im currently having the same issue where the power and ground are working but cant get the sub to make any sound using the speaker wires on the WPT and factory harness....I want to troubleshoot more on the reason behind the speaker wires not working on the factory side....ultimatly ill just have to do what Chamberlain did and splice into the speaker wires.
Hope this helps
Btw i have an XLT but not fully loaded. I have forscan set to aux sub and 7 speaker with kicker but i dont know if it is better a different way since I dont have mine up and running yet. Throughout this thread you will see many different set ups for forscan...once you get your hideaway up youll just have to play with it to see what sounds best to your ear.
Other setting I have seen throughout this thread
aux speaker instead of aux sub
none on the speaker with kicker instead of 5, 6, or 7 speaker with kicker
Hope this helps

It's one of the subs I'm considering...
Thanks to everyone that has pitched in on this thread and shared what you discovered about getting a sub wired in through the factory plug.
Well, I was stubborn and tried to only use the WPT1212. I got just a faint whisper out of the sub that way. Tapped into the rear speaker wires on the B pillar and got full power.

I'm very interested if this sub would work with the Sony premium sound that came with my 2017 Platinum. w/auto start/stop.
technically you could probably get it to work but this sub takes up the whole space where yours if you remove just the sub you still have the amp that powers the doors to move somewhere else.

Installed the hideaway, now running the remote, and while I am in there, changing out the middle speaker and installing the brake controller.
Got the back and front speakers in, went with just some nice Rockford Fosgates, the hideaway makes it sound much better, I could go with more bass, but, at 39 my two 12's days are over.
