Installed Forscan. Setting 1 wasn't enabled. Dealer hadn't activated the aux sub.

Setting 2 was on super crew 7 speaker with Kicker.

Reading throught this thread, some people like the sound better with setting 2 left at "not configured". That's what I want to do, but I don't have that option. All I have is super cab or super crew options.

I want it like it was before the dealer changed it. I want the option to leave setting 2 as "not configured"
i compared my as built to my modded one ( 16 xlt screw 7 speaker no kicker ),

stock 727-01-01 ***1****

stock 727-01-02 *600

so i imagine those are both "not configured" values

Default And the XL verdict is....

I've got a '17 XL STX with 101a 8". Seems that tapping into a speaker wire is our only option for those with my configuration? If/when I do go this route, will I still have the dreaded pop noise?

Also, does anyone know how many watts of power is being delivered to our stock door speakers? I'm looking to add a touch of bass but don't want to overwhelm the rest of the sound. At full blast, turned up to 30, I get little to no distortion but it isn't exactly loud either.

I have a 2017 XL STX also. Mine is wired that way. There's no pop at all. I'd guess stock delivers about 10 watts rms. I've ordered the Alpine power pack that's 45 watts per channel (probably about 30rms) along with speakers. I'm not happy at all with the stock speakers, the sound is so muddy and terrible compared to even cheap aftermarket speakers. I hope it works out.

I've been trying to digest everything in this thread and not sure if I'm following correctly. I have the Sony Premium System with the factory sub. I've upgraded the door speakers and tweeters thus far. Sound quality is vastly improved but the bass just isn't there compared to my previous Audiophile system in my 07. Can you explain what exactly you've done. Did you install another sub along with the Sony? Sorry for the dumb question but I'm looking for the least expensive way to improve the bass with what I have. Thanks for any advice you can offer or any others for that matter.

Not sure if anyone has done it, but what I would try if it was my truck is replacing the Sony sub with a better quality subwoofer in the same enclosure and adding a small mono amp. Then if I wasn't satisfied with that I'd build or buy a slim box to put the new sub in.
