Ive got a question for those who installed the kicker hideaway and the WPT1212 harness. I wired up the harness and soldered the joints and followed the wiring listed on page 9 of this. I did not do anything with forscan yet as far as enabling. I hooked the harness up in the truck and just plugged it into the kicker hideaway. Even without the key in the ignition, the power light when you first plug it in is red for just a second, then turns blue. The blue light stays on all the time and doesnt change at all whether the key in in the on/run position or off and the key out of the ignition. Does this blue light stay on all the time for you guys with this sub and harness? Again, I did not enable or make any changes to the settings in FORScan. I just want to make sure this is normal and not going to drain my battery.

Also, what do you guys have the settings on the side set to to start?
AUTO TURN ON: +12 or DC selection?
INPUT LEVEL: Hi or Lo?
PHASE: 0 or 180?
BASS BOOST:?
X-OVER: ?
GAIN: ?

Thank you in advance for any help! I am a rookie with truck audio so this is a learning experience for me.

The blue light goes off after about 3 minutes when the vehicle is off. Watch it and see. Mine did the same thing. I have mine on D.C. and high level. The other settings will be subjective based on your listening preferences.

Awesome! Thanks man!! I was worried I had wired something incorrectly and it was always getting power. Ill make sure it shuts off after a few minutes. Also, what is PHASE? And what setting did you put yours at? Any suggestions for starting point on the other dials? Thanks again man!

mine is on 0. If your sub sounds weird with your other speakers playing, like the bass is out of sync or d elated, your speakers can be out of phase with your sub. Experiment with the phase switch. There's also info in your manual for the Hideaway about phase.

For the others I have bass boost at zero. Crutchfield has a great article abiut setting gain. My crossover is about at 80.

Last night I verified that after a few minutes the light went off. And when you'd hit the unlock button, it would turn the light back on. But today I went out to the truck and was going to verify that everything was still good, unlocked the truck and no blue light anymore. Started the truck and still no blue light. Unplugged the harness from it and plugged it back in. Still no light. Check voltage at the end of the harness and its battery voltage so it's getting power. I still did not enable anything in Forscsn, not sure if that's coming into play here or if I have a problem with the wiring/sub. Maybe the remote turn on?

Sounds like remote turn on. It looks for power on the speaker wires, perhaps check and see if it works if you have music playing. Check the 12 volt or DC Switch on the amp too.

When I first installed my Kicker Hideaway, I did not wire up the remote to the WPT 1212 harness since I didn't think the 6v signal would trigger the sub. When I hooked it all up using the speaker level as a trigger, it did not work and I had similar behavior with the indicator lights. Once I wired up the 6v remote wire, everything worked.

Well....Im apparently dumb haha. You were exactly right. My speakers were on last night when the lights were on and working. And I had the stereo turned completely down when I was looking for the light today. I turned the volume up, and plugged it back in. Lights are back! Thanks for the tip on turning the volume up! I do have the remote turn on wired up, but I wasnt aware that it was also looking for speaker input to turn on. No, if I can only figure out my FORScan extended license issue, hopefully Ill be able to turn it on today to make sure its all working.

Well....the problems seem to continue. I got the FORScan issue resolved and was able to change the two settings in the ACM. I enabled auxiliary subwoofer and changed the speakers to Crew cab 7 speaker with kicker. However, no sound from the sub. The light is on and its getting power fine so Im not sure where to go from here. I did have a question though in regards to the wiring. Here is how I wired it according to what others have done here:

with the 1212 harness facing away and wires facing toward you it's this...top is where the clip is that secures it to the harness on WPT1212

Top left black is positive. Orange red on the factory side- Wired the RED (positive) wire on the kicker harness to here

Top far right is ground or negative. Black violet on the factory side - Wired the BLACK (ground) kicker harness to this location on WPT1212

Bottom left is remote turn on. Brown on factory side- Wired the BLUE (remote turn on) kicker harness to this location on WPT1212

Bottom 2nd to left is line level + violet on the factory side- Wired both the White (Left +) and the Grey (Right+)kicker harness to this single wire location on WPT1212 (the two are tied together into the one)

Bottom 3rd to the right is line level - green on factory side- Wired both the White with black line (Left -) and the Grey with black line (Right-)kicker harness to this single wire location on WPT1212 (the two are tied together into the one)

Does this seem right to the people who have installed the kicker hideaway? Am I missing something? The only thing I was not clear on through all of this was on the kicker harness it had a positive and negative for the left and also two wires for the right. So maybe that is where the issue is that they are all together? Thank you everyone for all the help youve given!

I had the same issue. Mine wouldn't work no matter what I did. I ended up tapping in to the rear speakers in the B pillar for my sound. Worked fine after that.
