I want to try and avoid running power and remote wire to the JBL.....

Sorry if Im just not grasping what you guys are saying....

at second check i have it checked as aux external sub as i thought this was the one the turned on that factory harness in the rear panel

Thanks

Both sets of leads should be connected.... there is no telling how the basslink is wired internally. As an example, when running a 2 channel amp bridged, the signal amplified will often be the positive from one side, (lets say the right) and the negative from the other (left). If you wire up on set, only one channel of the amp operates. Just tie both negative inputs, and both positives, and then you are covered either way.

The final piece is the remote turn on wire, you may or may not use that. It is 6v so some amps do not respond well to that. Some amps turn on via speaker signal detect.
2 notes - My Rockford 500w does not turn on with 6v, and it was able to blow the factory fuse with 2 subs connected, (peak draw is rated at 33amps) but it was just fine with one sub, or anything less than rap turned full tilt. I just went one size up on the fuse for now. (and the chicken littles that are forecasting a fire, do some reading, it's the peak current that blows the fuse, the continuous average current is minimal). I have a 4ga amp kit for a warmer weather install.

Here is a photo from the factory manual on the location of the power input connections

As I suggested earlier about using only one pair of inputs, here is the quote from the installation manual:

"Connect the subwoofer output from the
source unit to either the left or right
line-level input. If your source unit does
not have a dedicated subwoofer output
you can connect the rear left/right
outputs to the BassPro’s left and right
inputs."

and as I suggested for the remote turn on

"If you will be using the speaker-level outputs from your
head unit, you do not need to connect the remote output. The
BassPro’s speaker-level inputs will sense voltage on thespeaker
wires and the BassPro will turn itself on."

If you didn't get the manual you can get the pdf from Crutchfield's website.

ok i think i may understand...I will hook up one set of wires..."Connect the subwoofer output from the
source unit to either the left or right line-level input" from the JBLs harness to the WPTs harness the correlates to those and tie off the other set on the jbl side and the WPT side for the other set of speaker wires...The JBL does have desperate area to hook power, ground, and remote (very similar to a standard amp)...I will hook up separate wires to run from the WPT harness that correlates to the power, ground and remote to the JBLs slots for power, ground and remote.

JBL L+ and L- (harness) to WPT1212 L+ and L-
JBL R+ and R- (harness) - cap off
WPT1212 R+ and R- - cap off
WPT1212 power to JBL power
WPT1212 ground to JBL ground
WPT1212 all other wires - cap off

if for some reason the amp wont detect turn on from speaker level i will try and do the WPT1212 remote to remote on JBL
if it does not like that because of 6v I will run a seperate remote wire.

One last thing about the forscan settings
I do have the aux sub turned on as I thought this was what turned on the hidden factory connector Yes/No?

Sorry if i have made this more difficult than it needs to be

And thanks for all the responses..this site is a wealth of information and people willing to help out.

I installed the Rockford powered sub and found it better to set the system to aux extra speaker instead of aux sub. This way the cross over on the amp was my adjustment verses having it go through the factory crossover first. I found it had a little better output using this method.

So did you not use the factory plug? I thought to use it you had to select aux sub...that is what turns on that plug?

I got an XLT no factory sub and no sony radio. I want to hook up a Kicker Hideaway. Do I have that hidden sub connector that I can use a WPT1212 with? Or do I just take the input off a rear speaker?

I hooked up a kicker hideaway in my 2016, and enabled aux sub and 7 speaker kicker. I want to change my settings to turn off the kicker option, but no longer have unconfigured as an option. I did not back up my acm because I thought I was just toggling options. Can someone help me out with how to get it back to unconfigured. Thanks

For nasa00 I believe all trucks have the hook up. My 2016 xlt did. I hooked up a hideaway using it and the process was fairly simple. I was initially disappointed with the performance of the hideaway until I turned the xover all the way up. I believe this was necessary because the sub connector receives a filtered signal with aux sub and kicker audio enabled in the acm.

I have a 2015 F150 Screw and I just installed the OEM Kicker VGL3Z-18808-A using the existing wiring harness in the C-pillar. I bought the sub off of eBay from a guy for about $300. I was done in about an hour, including the programming of My Touch 2 using Forscan to enable the Subwoofer and the Kicker DSP. I didn't even have to do it in advanced mode, just used the plain English settings to set it up. Thanks too all the people whose valuable instructions on Forscan helped me avoid the Dealer with this addition. Its not the best sub in the world, but my radio sounded bad *** for the first time since I bought this truck.
