There was a SSM, for Lincoln vehicles equipped with oem subs. Having the same popping issue, some mentioned having the dealer apply the same SSM to our trucks to see if it solves the Pop!

I dont recall the SSM# though.

I purchased it from my local Ford dealer and installed it myself.

Interesting. I'll have to Google it to see if I can find the SSM. Thanks!

Thats not the exact same system. The $1295 system comes with the amp that pushes the door speakers. Its designed to be mounted under the dash. The system thats on Amazon is just the sub and the amp for the sub. I think thats the same price on the Kicker website.

No issues, folding the seat up. Plenty of room with this sub/box combo...
Toddman,

I saw your setup and ordered the same Fosgate box & sub. I'm having a hard time getting the speaker in place while still allowing the the seat to fold up. Did you cut off the seat bolt or drill a hole in the box to allow it to sit low enough?

I read somewhere it could be a voltage issue causing this problem. Some of the after market subs require 12V and the wiring from the Factory harness is 6V.

If that is true it would be solved by the PAC tr4 trigger relay. It has a 1 second delay to help deter relay noise. Anybody install one and still have a pop?

I was just throwing that out there as a possible solution without many details from the OP.

I have the after market 8" Kicker Hideaway installed and it works perfectly! Never had a "POP" issue.

I would suspect either bad wiring or a bad unit due to all the "Pops" he is experiencing.

Does the Hideaway fit behind your back seat? Or did you put it elsewhere?
