One other question, I have not used the Forscan program yet but I am setup and good to go. I understand the 1st step is to back up all the As Built Data. Is that backed up in the Forscan Program or on your computer?

Thanks Again!!!
you use forscan to do the backup. It will save a file on your computer that you can use to undo any changes you made.

So it appears I'm one of the unfortunate few that even after enabling everything in Forscan, I don't receive any audio signal to the rear connector. The turn on wire functions as anticipated, but no audio.

I'd like to figure out the common denominator for the few of us suffering from this.

My truck is a 2016 XL with the base 4.3" screen and 6 speakers.

If anyone has an actual wiring diagram I could use to trace those wires back to the source, I would greatly appreciate it!

So am I correct in my assumption that if you have the 502a package that the Kicker sub is plug and play once you remove the Sony sub?

Make sure that you click the "write" button after making changes in forscan.

I've done all the items mentioned (turning on one item at a time, hitting write, etc.) No luck.

I still remain suspicious of this being because I have an absolute base model audio system in an XL, but can't confirm this. Just frustrating as I didn't want to use an LOC for my amp.

Setting 1.

- Supercab 6 speaker with kicker audio
- Crew cab 6 speaker with kicker audio
- Supercab 7 speaker with kicker audio
- Crew cab 7 speaker with kicker audio (current setting)
- Not configured

Setting 1 I have always left at "Auxiliary subwoofer" but for the second option, it sounds like if you choose "Not configured" then the outputs are speaker level. If you choose "7 speaker with kicker audio" then I think they change to low level. I have left my crossover turned all the way up, and it seems to play well into the higher frequencies when set to "not configured". When I choose "7 speaker with kicker audio" it sounds perfect so I assume its prefiltered out of the head unit. I think I will keep it there. I'm not sure what the effect of changing setting 1 would be, but I assume speaker level outputs again.

CiDhed: Did you ever test with your scope whether the outputs are high level or low level? Can you get low level outputs with any particular settings in forscan?

Is there a definitive answer to this question yet?

I think I'm in the same boat. Everything is plugged up and enabled but no sound. Following this in case there's any updates.

I believe they are low level and here's why. I had the Kicker powerd sub in my '13. I bought the 1212 harness and adapted it to the harness for the Kicker amp then enabled the output in ForScan. when I plugged it in I could hear the sub making some sound but it was very quiet. Looking at the DSP harness on the kicker sysytem, the sub output comes out of the DSP (So I assume it's speaker level). I went to a local shop and bought an Alpine PWE-S8, spliced some RCA cables onto my 1212 harness and it works as it should. It sounds great and fits perfectly behind the seat.

Best of luck. I too, like others, gave up and used an LC2i to get my signal, tapped from the rear speakers.

I hope someone can find a solution, I'm sure many would appreciate it. Like I asked earlier, if anyone has a wiring diagram for the truck (either from Mitchell, AllData, etc.) it would be helpful to see exactly where the signal is sourced from.
