For what it's worth, I just called my dealer. They said they'd activate the option for $99. I don't have any other use for Forscan, and the cost difference is negligible. Will likely go that route.

That is how much you will spend for mx adaptor. Why not use it and then sell it ?

i suppose i could do that, but i'd have to get a bluetooth adapter as well for my old laptop, so the cost is literally within a couple dollars. i probably wouldnt sell it if i bought it, but i dont see any other use for my needs. i was just posting as a reference point for folks that dont want to futz with the forscan.

So I have a lariat with the Sony sub which I find lacking with the bass compared to my 2012 kicker Soundstage subwoofer. Can I get the kicker sub and replace the Sony one without splicing any wires?

Bass is finally kicking. Cheers to all of you who discovered and shared all of this cool information. It was so fun hooking this up, like a treasure hunt for Bass.

Next task : reinstall loop to decline back seat.

mustve knocked it off when installing the kicker...Ford designer who decided on a short hidden pull tab is not my favorite person right now.

Somewhere on here is a link to the kicker sub part and the ability to order it from Ford dealers. I mention this because it also shows (for some dealers) the cost to do the install...and I remember seeing several offering the install (which would include the activation) for less than $99. This is my way of saying $99 for settng an option in IBD seems pretty outrageous. This part of it is maybe a 15 minute job (tops).

I hooked my aftermarket amp remote turn on lead to the brown turn on wire and enabled with forscan. It still cuts off the bass when auto start stop is activated.

Default Kicker Factory Sub

Ford Kicker powered 8" sub with the 7 speaker w/subwoofer enabled thru forscan sounds pretty frikkin good! fished the back seat release latch with a shoelace and finished installing the Kicker to the floor and wall brackets, locking it behind the back seat like a glove. Guessin Ford made that backseat-release tab hidden & hard to reach, so idiot-thieves cant get to that sweet powered Kicker. Gonna miss this thread.....whats next!

No offense, but for half the price you can get a 10" sub and amp, that will kill this Substage kit...

I paid 235.00. For everything
