Factory sub
Thanks.
I actually have a Pioneer TS-SWX2502 10" sub sitting around, but that would require an under seat install. I would pair it with a nice JBL AMP (GTO-501EZ) that I also have lying around.
I'm also considering the Kicker as then my under seat space would remain available (for the other crap I carry around and probably shouldn't).

Not sure which state you live in. If it is jersey, by all means bring the truck over and I can offer my laptop and obd scanner to unlock the option. If you still need a picture from a distance , let me know
Those of you who have installed the Factory Kicker (VGL3Z-18808-A). Does it require cutting the carpet behind the rear seat like the Sound stage Version does, or is it truly just a bolt on option?
Yes, the Kicker does require you to cut the carpet in two small places in order to access the pre-drilled holes in the floor. Super easy.
No access to Windows, Mac, or Linux? If Mac or Linux you can install virtual box and run a (free) windows instance in it. Microsoft makes widows virtual machine appliances available for 90 days (free). These were intended for Internet Explorer integration testing. Thanks for the invite Aashu but im in Hawaii
Prob buy a cheapo windows tablet with bluetooth off craigslist or amazon.....more $$$$$ lol
There's another member running the same sub behind the seat, so it looks like it does fit.

Edit: It fits! I had to cut out a bunch of the sound insulation, but after doing so it fits! putting the back set up is super tight, but it latches. The box is slightly longer than the width between the two bolts coming up so I might built a little platform to raise the height to the height of the bolts. This is great news as I really didn't want to use up all of the under seat storage!
THANK YOU for posting this!

I don't know if this is just my mind playing tricks, but...
My 2 month old XLT truck has very disappointing sound. Very flat, no bass.
I was playing with Forescan for the first time tonight (makes me blush just to say that, sounds kind of dirty...)
to enable the OEM bedlights I installed over the weekend. That worked as advertised
Then playing around running some scans etc, the software told me I had a null or n/a entry in the audio module. Opening that mod (whatever it is called) showed me that my speakers were not configured (no choice had been made)!
I looked at the options and chose CrewCab 7 speaker / kicker (even tho I do not have the kicker, to the best of my knowledge) and enabled that. The audio did a sort of recycle dance, then turned it'self on and started playing. To my late night ear, it sounded WAY better!
I will give it a critical listen tomorrow, but maybe I just saved myself a speaker/woofer/amp upgrade?

Interesting. No way I would have thought it would fit. Off to do some investigation now... Thanks!

I was actually thinking about taking the sub out and drilling a hole using that bolt to secure the sub.
Do you think it makes a difference to cut the legs off the box?
