Interesting. It is rated as 150W RMS and is same rating as Kicker. The power cable I received with AMP is not that thick looking either. But your point is valid. In that case, I could run the 12+ directly off battery and still be able to use rest of the setup

Hi all -
I just read this thread from start to finish, and want to make sure I understand this correctly. This would be for a 2015 SuperCab XLT 302A install:

1. I could order the Kicker sub for the 2015+ F150: VGL3Z-18808-A which already comes with the connector to hook up to the Ford provided connector. This is pretty much plug and play, has the advantage of being being behind the seat.
2. I could order a WPT1212. I would then wire this up to a different self-powered sub (or sub amp), and the WPT1212 would allow me to tap into the Ford provided connector. To use this, I need to make sure the sub amp doesn't draw more than 20 amps (or I need to do a separate direct run).

Both of the above would require the Ford provided connector to be turned on, either by the Dealer or by using Forscan.

Do I have this correct? Thanks!

Yup. If you go with aftermarket just make sure you will have clearance to fold the seat up. The seat back moves back toward the cab some when you fold up the seat. The aftermarket kicker hideaway fits fine. I think the wedge shaped powered subs may require cutting of the back padding to fit.

Thanks.

I actually have a Pioneer TS-SWX2502 10" sub sitting around, but that would require an under seat install. I would pair it with a nice JBL AMP (GTO-501EZ) that I also have lying around.

I'm also considering the Kicker as then my under seat space would remain available (for the other crap I carry around and probably shouldn't).

Aashu , please update us if the factory harness worked well with the P8, or if you ran a direct.

I will sure do that. I will also check and report how many amp does the power cable suck at full blast. Waiting on obd sensor delivery. Hopefully should be done sometimes next week

Curious, how will this setup work with the Auto Off feature on the 2.7?

received WPT1212 but still waiting on OBD. Interestingly, the power cable to be hooked with battery supplied with SUB has an inline fuse rated at 10A. I am very sure that the sub will do well without running separate +ve.

Oh that's good to hear. Is there an additional fuse on the sub itself that is rated for 30A?

It cuts out sometime when the engine is off. It's not recommended if you use the on off feature.

I notice only the center dash speaker works when it cuts out. When you start the truck it all comes back on. Sometimes it stays on but others it will shut down. I think it has to do with how much power your pulling at the time. Ac/volume/etc.
