I'll say this much, I'm glad they did something like this. I wouldn't even use the backup camera in my expedition because it would take so long for sync 1 to boot and show the video.
Saw your post in the Forscan thread, but I'll reply here to avoid derailing that thread.

In my 2016, the amp/sub turn-on wire goes hot as soon as I interact with the truck. If I do nothing else (i.e., if I just unlock it and open the door), I see the Ford logo appear on the 8" screen for a few seconds but then it goes away. The head unit doesn't seem to turn on unless 1) I turn the key or 2) press the radio on/off **** (without the key in the ignition). Either way, the sub is on first.

The amp/subwoofer is a Sound Ordnance B-8PT. I'll check the grounds again today. I am hoping that the problem will be with my wiring, because if it's not, then the pop is caused by the delay between the head unit and amp turn on. And it doesn't look like I can do anything about that, other than abandon the factory wiring for sub turn on.

Thanks for your help troubleshooting this. The sub sounds fantastic, so this occasional turn on pop is a minor annoyance.

Before abandoning the factory wiring give one of these a try, I ended up running one because I was concerned about the low voltage turn on but I also haven't noticed any popping or turn on noises.

I think the head unit is on for that 3m18s that I measured, just not showing anything. You could wire the remote to a keyed switch if it doesn't bother you to not have sub with no key. Another thing you can try is to play with the gain/bass boost and see if that mitigates the pop, I had 2 15's in my expedition and it would hit full on if I left the bass **** turned up when I got out of it. Turned down it would barely hit, the pop must be right in that 35-40hz.

Btw, made sure to listen to starship troopers when dialing in my settings.

Thanks. I've looked at this and the PAC TR4 but neither has the delay we're talking about here: 30+ seconds or more.

I haven't noticed any turn on thump. This is line level to begin with. Maybe it's the rear converter you are using.

I installed the Kicker Sub tonight into my Lariat 501a (non-sony). The exact model details can be found here:

https://accessories.ford.com/speaker-asy-11494.html

Super easy install, completely plug and play, no splicing of wires. I just recently got setup on Forscan so was able to go in and easily enable the sub and Kicker w/ 7 speaker option. Worked perfect.

I'm no audiophile and I know some folks who have this system haven't been impressed but IMHO it sounds great! It's a significant improvement over what I had before and blows the stock 3 radios on my previous Toyota trucks out of the water.

I know a lot of guys can build a much better system for the same or less cost (I paid $475) but the plug and play factor along with compatibility with the auto start/stop on my 2.7 sold me. So far I'm very happy! Just wanted to share in case anyone else was thinking of going this route.

One last thing, if you are interested, pm bobby1409 - He's a parts manager at a Ford dealership and can get you an excellent deal on this system (and other parts it sounds like). He was fantastic to work with from start to finish, highly recommended.

Kicker Sub Upgrade - Completely plug and play - Just need to enable in Forscan or have dealer enable it (part # VGL3Z-18808-A)

I also just got the kicker sub from bobby1409 and am very happy with my choice. I was looking for a richer sound from the stock system, and liked the factory fit of the Ford/Kicker sub. It fills out the sound of the stock system.
Very easy install and easy to enable with Forscan.

I'm going to install this shallow mount 10, and box. Should hit 3x harder than the 100w 8" Substage by Kicker!

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0068XYNH4...U9S57J97&psc=1

I figure 250.00 for everything! Sub, box, amp, wiring, and pac!

does this work with any 15-16 radio or just the touch screens?
