Got mine installed today, minus proper mounting. Still not sure what I want to do there.

No special options specifically for sub on my XLT, but the bass "line", in Sync sound options, will affect the sub; ie- less bass/more bass. Had to find a good balance between the speakers then work the sub amp options to desired sound.

I used a rubber bungie from the jack to the bottom of the seat mount for now. It doesn't interfere with anything and it allows me to move it out of the way. I always keep that section folded up and I only found that it was loose when it's folded down so the bungie helped to stop that.

This is all fantastic news! Sounds like the install is clean and straight forward. I was very much interested in this until I realized that the obd II sensor everyone is using is Bluetooth. My laptop doesn't have Bluetooth! Ugh! Was think of using the obd II USB one but have heard some people say it doesn't work. Kinda bummed this would've been great!

That's a solid idea CiDhed. I was thinking about how to do with some velcro.

I'm just noticing that sub doesn't power off with key or with the 12v timeout delay. I have mine changed to 32 second. Timing it now to see how long it turns off (if it does).
That normal?

Why don't you just get a Bluetooth dongle for your laptop? That what I had to do since my old Dell didn't have built in Bluetooth.
Here's some dongles from NewEgg, they are pretty inexpensive.

I have noticed the same thing. My sub will turn on when I unlock the doors via remote or keypad as well.

Yep - same here. I am pursuing an answer over on the Forscan thread since the issue is that the turn-on lead goes hot as soon as the truck is unlocked, instead of when the radio is turned on. So this would need to be controlled by the ACM, which is where that turn-on wire comes from. The BCM might have something to do with it too since that's where the accessory power points are controlled from.

Very interested in solutions to this.

Please let us know how long it stays on, if you find out. I know mine shuts off at some point but I haven't timed it yet. If you say that doesn't timeout with the accessory power points, then must be controlled by another address in the BCM or ACM.

It stays on for only a minute or so. Maybe Ford has the radio set up on these to prepare itself for use on door opening or unlock. That way it's ready to show you the backup camera right away. My expedition seemed like it would take hours to boot and show me the camera.

:edit, copied from forscan thread:

Just went out and tested it. Right around 3 minutes 18 seconds after the last interaction with the truck it turns the amp on, any interaction powers it up. I do have a slight shutoff pop with the hideaway. The radio takes a good 5+ seconds to power up after this 3:18 second shutoff time compared to an almost instant start within the interaction window so I think my theory that it pre-starts it in the background on any interaction is plausible.

I'll say this much, I'm glad they did something like this. I wouldn't even use the backup camera in my expedition because it would take so long for sync 1 to boot and show the video.
