I'm going to attempt this install tomorrow. Kicker Hideaway arrived today, and picked up the WPT1212 from the dealer. I tried to pre-wire the harness tonight to get that knocked out. Most of it was straight-forward.

I wired both speaker +'s from the amp to the + line level on the body harness, and both speaker -'s from the amp to the - line level on the body harness.
Is this right? Or should I just have done one side?

 

I did it like you did. I'm not sure it matters but that way works.

 

I get my hideaway tomorrow. I plan to wire it the same as you did as that's how I tapped in to the factory sub on my expedition and it worked perfectly. I flashed subwoofer enabled and crew with 7 speaker with kicker options with forscan.

 

Thanks guys. I got my OBD MX device today as well, and FORScan setup earlier this week.

I think the only thing I still need to map out is how to mount it.
I'll use the "slit the fabric" method, if I can't find devise something without cutting.

 

So will just a obd bluetooth dongle work?

 

Not sure if the elm 327 clones will work without modifying it. I'll test it tomorrow. I used a obd link mx. If it doesn't work I think you can modify it for about 5 bucks.

 

I modified my cheap elm327 to add the switch for ms can. That was required to see the acm options. Took a little soldering, but I had the parts lying around and it was cheaper than the mx obd. There is a tutorial to add the switch on the forscan website.

 

so when you enable the sub in forscan, its there any difference in the stereo audio display options? Like a specific sub control option in the audio menus ?
