F150’s and your Dogs
Interested to see how everyone deals with their pets in the truck.
Spend a fair amount of time trying to decide where and how to get them in. In the bed, in a cage, in the back.
First plan was in the bed, with a cap and in a cage. (Knew it would not last back there on really hot or cold days with the wife wanting them in the cab.) Did not want them lose in cab, but what do you do with 2 80lbs labs.
Ultimately decided to use a bakflip f1 and put the dogs in the cab. 3 cages in found the perfect fit that works with the truck, the kid, and the 2 dogs, cool runners soft crate.
Main travel times are 10min to the park, 30 min to grandparents, 2.5 hours to the cottage.
This cage was a little too big to get in and out easily.

My German Shorthaired Pointer rides in the back in a Gunner Kennel.

I live in the south, it’s rarely too cold for him to ride back there when I’m going somewhere he will be going as well.

I also have two black labs - one is 100lbs & the other is 80ish. I don't have kids so I raise both seats up & let them have the entire floor area.

Was considering a crate for the back seat area on my SCREW but it would have to be so large it probably wouldn't even fit. Only thing I can think of is getting those dog covers for the back seats and see how they work out. He's just a very large dog and takes up a lot of space............. He's about 147 lbs and the breed is Tibetan Mastiff. They require a lot of space to be comfortable.. I think your crate looks excellent and should work well.

Looks good, both of my dogs are right around 150lbs apiece so probably wouldn't work for me. After the last time of transporting my dogs and taking about a week to clean their hair out, I use my wife's expedition now when we take them anywhere.

My yellow lab rides best on the floor in the back of my Lariat, I fold the larger rear seat up when she is in the truck. I have a Husky weather-beater full floor liner on the back floor....it really helps keep things easy to cleanup during hunting season. My setup is very similar to yours- I have a car seat for my young daughter behind the passenger seat.
