Default F150 Bluetooth question

Hey all, I have an off the wall question. I have a 2017 F150, with Bluetooth. I want to take my family to a drive in, and the drive in uses a local radio station to broadcast the movie sound. I also have a small sound bar that is Bluetooth compatible. Can I connect the sound bar to the Bluetooth in my truck? I don’t want to blast the speakers in my truck to hear the movie. Thanks all.

I don't think it was designed to do that.

does it have a headphone jack? Get a walkman, and a double ended headphone cable. Or you could prob get to RCA inputs, etc. list goes on.

Like Woodall said... The truck is looking for audio sources when it connects a bluetooth device, not destinations.

No unfortunately it does not have a headphone jack, but it does have a power inverter, maybe I can just take a portable radio or something. Thank you all for your input.

I ran up against this same issue just a week ago. I ended up using a bluetooth speaker powered off its own battery and my phone with the Nextradio app. It's the only app I've found that allows you to manually dial in a frequency. The catch is you need to use something with a 3.5mm plug, because it uses the cable as an antenna. So tuned in with the phone/app anf connected to the speaker via 3.5mm cable instead of Bluetooth, and it worked great. I highly recommend having a portable phone battery though, just incase it dies!

In bizarro world, we have discussions about merging old technology like drive-in movies, and Bluetooth vehicles.

Sorry, I don’t mean any disrespect, I just find it amusing after participating in the thread about old and new technolgy of entertainment systems.

Oh, I agree completely! But, there's something timeless about sitting in the bed of a truck watching a slasher with some friends on a cool summer night!

I do not think that the radio in the F-150 has the appropriate profiles installed to support a Bluetooth speaker.

If I'm not mistaken I think you'd need the A2DP profile in order to connect an external Bluetooth speaker to the radio.
