F150 with 5.0 Supercharged?
Hi, I am considering buying a 2018 5.0 F150 Lariat and having an Roush supercharger put on. They aren't ready for the 2018 5.0 yet, but I am told they will be by March. Power output should be 660 HP/605 Torque or so, maybe more. I have been speaking to the dealership near me and the price on a 2018 F150 Lariat loaded options with the Supercharger and labor would be about 69k out the door. For anyone curious, the supercharger is 7500, the labor and other parts would be about 3000, and then you have taxes. I would be given a 36k/3 year warranty on the truck. The other option would be a Raptor at 72k. The Supercharged F150 would be much faster (I care... I want a vehicle with four wheel drive, storage space and quick acceleration and passing ability + fun to drive) but the Raptor looks awesome, has great resale value, and more off road capability, which I would use for fun once in a while but 95% of the miles would be on a road. Down the line, I might get Fox shocks and 35" - 37" wheels on the super charged F150 if I got that, but that would push the price over a Raptor.
This would be my first truck, I am used to powerful sedans. A supercharged/turbo charged pickup fits the bill now for something I can afford, quick, and lots of room to carry stuff. I will move every 1-2 years for my job, so having a vehicle that can carry most of my stuff without movers will be a benefit. I also really liked the visibility and height factor after test driving them. What route would you go, and why?

I have owned many F150's from Lightnings, assorted 4x4's, and two Raptors. Hands down the Raptors are the best driving F150's I have owned. Previous Raptor had the 6.2L V8 and the current Raptor is a 2018 with the TT3.5 V-6. Hands down the 2018 is faster in every way than the V8 was. I am not a fan of the V6 sound but beyond that I have no complaints.
Coming from performance cars more power is better. With offroad capable vehicles suspension is #1. 600+hp is a 4x4 truck sounds fun at first. Just remember that they do not corner or stop like a 3500lb car.

Supercharger and installation has very limited resale, Raptor has lots of resale.
Your 100K Powertrain is probably covered by Roush but I’d double check that and if it was me I’d do the oil pump gears.
Whipple will be over 800 Flywheel HP in the F150 for 2018 if your interested in the non traditional look.
Raptor all day.

$72,000 for the raptor? Please tell me you aren’t considering one of those sucker “market adjusted” price tags.
You can make the Lariat look like a raptor without a major investment, and you’ll have a massive advantage in power going with the supercharged V8. You’ll also enjoy an absolutely glorious exhaust note instead of being that guy with a six cylinder muscle truck. As for resale, let’s be honest... you’re dropping 70 grand on a truck. Don’t let a couple grand five years from now take away the pure joy of driving the truck you really want. When you hear that V8 fire up, you’ll know you made the right choice.

Fords site says the raptor starts at $50k.
That said, the raptors are making I think around 370 rwhp, of which any benefit of the added power is soaked up by its heavier weight. Meanwhile, whipple is showing dyno graphs of 2018 f-150's making 650 rwhp. That's around 750 at the crank with an available warranty. 300 extra hp will be noght and day difference. Personally, I'd shoot for a lower cost truck for $45k plus $8k for the supercharger kit.

My choice would be 4x4 RCSB, XL, 5.0, Whipple, big intake, big headers, true dual exhaust, build just like I want it to look, etc.
