F-Series out sold competitors despite almost half the incentives!

I think Chevy has what it takes to outsell Ford F series with their basic design, but they hold out so much on their trucks in technology and options (despite not being cheaper) that they limit themselves to only more traditional buyers. I'm a Chevy guy at heart, but I like luxury options and tech in my vehicles, and when I really compared them head-to-head, it seemed like Chevy wasn't even trying. Despite all the tech GM has in their fleet, they don't put it in their trucks. The lack of a keyless ignition system was really the main thing that brought me back to the Ford dealer for my 502a.

GM has never learned how to option their vehicles competitively, whether it be cars or trucks. They make you buy thousands in an option package to get one thing you want, and yet that same feature will come standard on another make. I left GM to come to the F-150 and I don't think I'll ever go back. I'm really liking this truck and GM is so far behind it's not even funny.

@OP - If by incentive you mean rebates, I got $8500 off from Ford plus roughly another $4500 from the dealer. They also gave me $6800 for my old 2006 RAV4 limited. That's what mostly sold me on the F150, other reasons was the truck drives so nice. I love the transmission sport mode, drives like a much smaller vehicle IMO.

Most people around here don't educate themselves when buying a truck.
Sadly they buy because "it's a ford" or "it's a Chevy and this is murica' .
One guy I know that bought a Chevy 1500 never even heard of cylinder deactivation. And turbos on a truck is "sissified " and aluminum bodies aren't strong enough to be on a truck.

I'm not brad loyal. I looked hard a GMC. The biggest reason I went with Ford is because they will sell you whatever engine you want in whatever trim package you want.
If I got the GMC I only wanted the 6.2 engine with the 8 speed transmission. But I didn't want to pay for the higher trim packages. GM will not sell you a 6.2 in a work truck or an LS trim. Biggest engine you can get is the 5.3 in the lower trim packages. For that reason alone GM hit the chopping block in my decision making process.
