Default F-150 Tops IIHS side impact test.

F-150 is still the most crash worthy truck on the market.

Wow they also tested the new RAM 1500 and it scored good! Guess the Ram engineers were on top of their game in more than one area.

Good for Ford! The article doesn't match up with ratings on the IIHS site though. The IIHS website claims the 2019 GM pickups scored a "good" rating for side impact test. They scored "marginal" for passenger front offset test. The Honda Ridgeline also scored "good" in the side impact test.

Absolutely, they deserve commendation. The previous gen Ram was the worst full-size truck tested, even worse than the Tundra, and they really stepped it up with this new model. That's pretty sad for GM. Brand new model and it barely scored better than the old truck. Same goes for MPG, towing and power ratings. If I was a GM fan I would feel really let down by the new Silverado.

Looks like you misinterpreted the title, I did at first, it is in regards to the passenger front offset, not the side impact. The headline does throw it off, but it is saying passenger side front offset, as I thought the same thing until I saw the picture of the result. Oh, thats what they meant!

Sorry about that, I messed up the title. The good news is, The Ford got a good rating in all categories and is the best performing truck. The Ridgeline gets the Top Safety Pick Award based on headlight ratings, but man is it amazing to see a 4 year old aluminum truck beat the newest from GM and FCA.

Top Safety pick for a REAL pickup truck, the Honda is a truck wannabe. LOL The Ford got dinged on headlights and frontal collision prevention, but I thought 2019 came standard with collision avoidance and pedestrian detection.

The F-150 was rated superior for front crash prevention. As were the Silverado, Ram 1500 and Tundra. The Titan does not have any forward collision prevention technology available and was awarded no points in that category.

Honda makes a decent vehicle. It would rip right through our tin cans. I’ve seen ridgelines with higher payloads than some f150. Ps. I’ve owned 10 fords and 1 Honda but it was a 76 cb550
