Is the F-150 losing market share?

I sure do see alot of Silverados recently. Know how I can spot them so easy? They all, even the work truck versions, have those badass projector headlamps with LED DRLs. Meanwhile FORD has the most advanced trucks with #*^(*$&(#)(* halogen headlights and it's not until you pay 60k do you get modern headlights.
The 2019 Ram 1500 is going to light some fire under Ford. Dodge really pulled through with the looks and features on that truck. Soon Ford will be playing catch-up too.
I hope the new Ram is a successful truck. I'm not loyal to any brand I just go to whoever can convince me that they have the best truck backed with good service. Ford has won me so far

Honestly it's smart on Ford's part cause the guy that spends the extra cash on the higher trim level has that satisfaction of having those options he paid for over the cheaper models. Now Ford makes alot more money selling the marked up higher trim level trucks to get the small things like headlights and taillights. Now with Chevys they sell more lower trim levels than they do higher because of simple options like headlights and small cosmetic things that catch your eye are on them now. They also get some of the other company's buyers cause they can spend less to get more... It can help and it can also hurt a company. I see alot of XLT's around town, but I also see alot of lariats around also with led headlights. More than I do seeing higher trim level dodges or chevys and that's probably why. I wish ford would do certain options standard like Chevy with the headlights, but they won't until they start to see a trend with people leaving them.

might see more gm for awhile. Looks like some dealers are dumping the 2018 silverados and gmc with discounts over 12k. They got to get
rid of the outdated and low tech offering current models. 19 are being shown and only a few months till productions
People talk about lighting. The worst truck had was the 14 gmc slt all terrain with projector beams. Had to run fog lights to see where going.
GMC was like any other forum. post after post on complaints

That was in 2014. Now we have 2018 and Ford hast the worst headlights unless you buy a Lariat and up and get the LEDs (still cost extra on the Lariat).
According to the numbers in the video the F-150 is second now to the GM twins. That doesn't even take into account the fleet sales, the federal government has more F-150 then any other brand.
And the competition is heating up by the minute!

There are so many factors that go into this question.
1. True data is hard to come by. Just in this post, we have one source that shows Ford F150 selling fewer than GM (combined) and two other sources referencing the dominance of Ford.
2. Consumers fall into categories. Those brand loyal will stay always - those on the edges move between manufacturers year to year because one manufacture has a feature or look or price that works for said consumer
3. Model year cycles impact sales substantially. You can expect GM to have a roaring 2019 compared to Ford....I expect Ford relatively flat year on year.
4. Ford uses the "F-Series" in their *best selling* campaign. Because they group all F-series sales together for the claim, they are in no danger of losing the abiltity to trade on the claim.
RE: point 4. I've often wondered why GM continues to have GMC. Every vehicle in this brand is a re-badge of another GM product.
