Experience with V8 cold air intakes
This has probably been beat to death. I remember reading threads where the general consensus is that the gains aren’t negligible for the price tag, but I figured I’d ask once more.
V8 owners with CAIs: what are your experiences with them? How’s the noise and overall performance? What brand are you using?
I’m looking at an Airaid cold air intake as it offers the best performance without needing a tune. Mainly want to have a little better low end torque and HP as well as throttle response, and also wouldn’t mind a little more rumble from that already great sounding Coyote engine.

You just opened a big can of worms. Alot of butt hurt people on this topic. I started the last thread about it lol.
i got a k&n blackhawk. Easy to install, makes some noise under the hood. I like it. I have it paired with a magnaflow muffler. I think my truck sounds pretty dang good. Gains arent really noticeable other than i picked up from 17mpg to 18mph on the highway with 33's

I had an Airaid on my last 5.0. Looked good, sounded like a 4 barrel kicking in when getting on it. Was also using a 93PRX tune on E85, Borla exhaust. Noticed no improvement in anything other than mentioned. It's up to you, it's your $$$$.

You have CAI already = Your engine is designed for and needs it!!!
No improvement = No detrimental effects!!!
More noise = Less perceptible road noise!!!
Lighter wallet = Improved MPG!!!

Yup your factory set up already exceeds the engines air flow so no possible performance gains.
Yes they look nice under the hood.
Yes some remove some sound dampening making them louder.
That is about it.
