Default Expected MPG w/2.7L, 3.15 RWD SCREW?

Lots of posts out there on MPG numbers, but what about those with the most fuel-efficient combination? How are you guys doing in terms of real-world numbers?

Look at Fuelly... However, it's all meaningless, as the many posts should show you, because:

- different areas - flat, hilly, cold, warm, winter gas, summer gas
- different uses - towing, not towing, loaded with crap, not loaded with crap
- different driving styles - old lady, 15 year old without brains, stop and go, all highway
- unknown configuration - don't know what gear ratio they have
- lack of common sense - "hey, I drive at 90 mph in full turbo mode and I'm only getting XX MPG, what the hay?"

^^ Hard to tell since there are so many factors to consider, but your setup is one of the most fuel efficient combination for sure. Let us know what you do.

Haha the above is pretty spot on.

-I live in Florida so it's flat and warm.
-I hardly tow, but haul quite a bit in the bed.
-Drive like an old lady mostly.
-3.15, 2.7, 2wd, supercrew.
-If I do a lot of highway miles, I can average 24-26 mpg holding 70-75 mph. Lots of city means lots of stop and go and I average 17-19 driving like an old lady.

If you can keep your foot out of it, you'll do 20ish all around, but if you like driving fast, it's not going to go well. I took a trip down south this past weekend and was running late so I was doing 80-85 mph. My gas mileage was 20 mpg.

2015 3.31, 2.7, 2wd, Lariat here. I don't baby my truck and regularly run sport mode. I do run the speed limit on the interstate here which is either 60 or 70.

Lie-o-meter shows lifetime average of 22.7 over close to 30K miles. Fuelly shows 20.7 over the same distance. I've seen around 26 MPGs on the lie-o-meter on flat terrain and keeping it around 70-75. There is a dramatic drop in mileage anything over 75.

I imagine the 3.15s could do better on flat terrain, but any wind or hills will require it go into boost more which kills mileage.

Yeah, I live in the San Antonio area, so mostly flat - very few hills. With my driving it's probably a 60/40 mix of city/highway. I generally drive 7-8 mph over the speed limit on highways/interstates, but don't gun it in the city and do my best to coast to stop lights. Hoping for at least 20 mpg combined, but I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Again, this is really subjective... What is ''garbage mpg''? How cold is it outside?

Stop & Go is def. a MPG killer.

I'm kind of surprised by these numbers as I was expecting higher. To the OP is yours a 10 speed? I would surely think you could average 20 easily. I'm right at 20 mpg with my 2016 5.0 Screw 4x4 with 3.55. However, I drive it very easy and 80% highway. Really don't ever go over 70. Mine is very sensitive to wind. Would be curious if the Ecoboost are effected by wind as well.
