Extremely quiet. In fact Ford revised 2017 resonator to lessen interior low-frequency resonance at certain rpm ranges that were present on 2015-2016 model years. A “side effect” was enhanced sound on the exterior.

No other parts; unbolt the old resonator, swap, bolt on. That’s it.

That is the muffler I was going to install, until Chip come thru with this option to do. Was not crazy about cutting and welding in a new muffler so i chose the 2017 resonator route

Hi SGB, the 12249 muffler has been our most popular unit to use as an upgrade on light trucks. As long as you have the stock resonator it will only be slightly louder than the stock muffler; most of the difference is in the tone. If you wanted something that was stock volume, we would recommend going with the 24" unit.

If we can answer any other questions to help you with your decision, please don't hesitate to send us a PM.

After watching Cuch's video, this is the route I'm going to go as well. For those with a 157" wheelbase, the part number is GL3Z-5A212-C.
