Regarding the Geico MBI.
My 2011 Lariat, EB (purchased new), had a primary timing chain failure at 71xxx miles this past January (stretched beyond the limit of the adjusters). I called Gieco, placed a claim, and everything was covered, to include new cam phasers and chain. I paid a $250 deductible.

At 78xxx miles, October, 2017, the 3.5 threw a rod at 50 MPH. Contacted Gieco once again. They asked me for proof of 3 oil change/ service records, that we're not in Ford's system. I supplied them with the 3 missing Service records. They are replacing the motor as we discuss this, under the MBI.

Side note. I explained to the Fod dealer in Omaha Nebraska, that I needed a truck to go to Pennsylvania to settle my mother's estate. After two days of waiting for a low mileage loaner, to be returned, they called me to see if I could come visit the dealership.
When I arrived a salesman asked me into his office, shared his new inventory, from three dealerships, owned by the same franchise, with me. He asked me to pick any truck. The following day I picked up the 2017 XLT Sport 2.7, Super Crew,, with 30 miles on it. I am currently in PA. with the truck for the past 10 days. Now that, is customer service!

I may just buy this truck, as they offered me a deal, that would be hard to refuse!

Gieco MBI, and the Ford dealership in Omaha, could not have treated me better!

Exclamation

Bob at Zeigler has agreed to do a "special sale" on the ESP's for F150 forum members.

This months sale will be on the 13th of this month (September), and will carryover to the 14th for those who read forum posts a day later).

Fine Print: You need to order online @ www.zeiglerfordesp.com

using a credit card as payment in full.

you can *NOT* use the discount/promo code and the finance option together. Its one of the other, not both. If you use the promo code and the finance option together, your order will be rejected, and that risks others being able to get the forum discount..

For those of you waiting on arrivals on your '18, I have asked Bob at Zeigler if he will do this 'extra' promotion at least a month where everyone can take advantage of it.

you can order everyday at the $225 off price by calling Zeigler, but this promo gives an extra $25 off (making it $250 off the posted prices).

I will post the PROMO CODE as soon as Bob gives it to me. The $250 off code will cease to work on the 15th....

This will be a great opportunity for forum members to save an extra $50 off any other online retailer of the Ford ESP! (yes, it will beat Flood by $50).

I'm curious. WHY would you purchase this on a brand new 2018 truck? This ESP gives you NOTHING for the first 3 years / 36k miles. If you're going to purchase one, why not wait 3 years?

Waiting 3 years give you nothing extra. If you buy a 2018 and immediately buy a 7 year warranty, it will expire in 2025. If you buy the ESP in 2021, it will expire in 2025.

I believe it is cheaper to purchase one when you are within 12 months/12,000 miles of the original warranty vs. waiting 3 yrs/36,000 miles. So to answer your question, if you are going to purchase one, you can purchase one sooner to save money.

It sure as hell does. It saves you the outlay of $1000 or whatever it costs. Why pay $1k for something 3 years before you can use it. That's just a bad financial decision. Most people that purchase these on a new vehicle wrap it into a loan, which is an even worse decision. But if you're paying cash, why the hell pay for it early?

Also, if for some reason you need to unload your truck, you're not out the money. Buying early makes no sense.

You'll likely pay less for it if you buy it when the truck is new. If you buy the plan when the truck is already 3 years old, you will probably pay more. If you plan on getting rid of the vehicle after 3 years, it probably doesn't make sense. If your going to keep it longer then an ESP might make sense.
