Engine start after sitting for a few days

I have a 10 year old BMW 3-series with over 100k on it, still drives and looks like brand new car. This car sits on the off days when I drive my truck, so it sits for days too. I used to keep it mostly garaged over the winter with a battery charger; I remember one time after a particular cold and snowy month, my car sat for 5.5 weeks without being started in my un-heated garage (in the North East), and I remember when I went to drive it on a "warm, nice" winter day I was super nervous about starting it up. Well, it fired right up, no strange noises or anything, it acted as though it was driven that day.
But I do 99% agree with you, mostly all vehicles after sitting for a long period and being cold started do act funny.
That is why I "assumed" my truck was acting "normal"... I just needed the reassurance of the internet to confirm! Haha... because, you know, if you read it on the internet it must be true!!
Thanks for all the replies guys!

Yep mines does the same "grunt" at start up. I also notice the V8 will slightly rock the truck on a cold start.

Yep, that little growl is the reason my truck has the engine it does

My 2016 5.0 did it, and my ‘18 5.0 does it as well. It’s not uncommon that my truck sits in the garage for 4-7 days without being run once. Seems to have that “bark” after it’s been sitting for that amount of time; the sound makes me smile.
