Well you just don't know what you're talking about then!!!!I have a 8.8 in my 89 Mustang with a 466 BBF in it that runs low 11's in the 1/4 mile guess how many times it has broke[oh yeah none]!!!!So how do you explain the numerous Mustangs going 7's and 8's in the 1/4 mile then with 8.8 rear ends if they're junk come on lets hear it!!!!

Wonder how it would do with 3.15...... If it turns at 1400 @ 60 MPH with stock, where would it be with 35 and 3.15?
Just asking cause I'm curious, no other reason.

What exactly is a butt hurt Ford owner and why is that necessary to say? Can you expand your little mindless post and tell us what is so bad about the 8.8 rear axle? I would like to know things to watch out for if it indeed has issues.

He is just mad cause his truck wouldn't give it up for him. I know my F150 is a POS compared to the vast majority of them, but that doesn't give me the urge to bash Ford altogether.

Back on topic. A lifted truck must sound good. The v8 is the only choice

For a lift I'd get the 5.0.
You can always bolt on a whipple supercharger later for more RELIABLE power than you will even know what to do with..
You have a 6 or 10 speed to get you moving, and I'm assuming that having 18-20mpg is a very low priority on the list. 3.73 would be the more balanced gear ratio to have.
35" tires are not going to hurt your mileage/drivability as bad as some may have you believe.
