I'm glad this engine thing is now settled.

I wonder what their favorite color is.

Maybe they will do a video on that too.

Seems the keeper of the Bridge of Death has a new question...
What is your Name?
What is your Quest?
What is is the best engine for the F150?

Just Kidding,.

I would agree with others, asking a mechanic which engine he or she would like comes down to asking them what engine would you like to work on. The answer was 5.0, if he would have asked what engine they wanted but would never have to work on it, then maybe the answer would have changed.

Im getting close to buying a new truck, my only concern now is the size. I'm considering a Regular Cab with an 8ft bed and would love a 3.5eb in that otherwise its a Colorado/Canyon or Frontier.

Doesn't matter who you ask, you run into the same issues:

1) Question has no qualifiers, so it's meaningless.

2) Criteria differ for each person. Working on it, towing (and what kind of particular towing), etc.

3) Qualifications of people providing providing answers - even if you say "mechanics know", mechanics have specialties, and some are much more experienced than others.

I want to know whether they like Carnations or Daisies more...

Should be on the off topic section of the forum because it contains zero facts and solves zero issues.

Yah... look at any of the last couple pages and see "EB threw rod at 10k miles" "Turbo replaced at 20k miles" any of that. Everyone says the 5.0 is a dog, but mine is plenty quick and still going down the road. Hell there is a new thread right now about a 16 EB with rough idle at 56K.

It will be interesting to see how the 5.0 is in the 2018's. It gets the 10 speed transmission, 10 more horsepower and 13 more lb-ft of torque.
