Auto Start/Stop Disable
BCM 726-48-02 x0xx xxxx xxxx (disables A.S.S.)
FCIM 7A7-01-01 xxxx x0xx xxxx (disables A.S.S. switch)
IPC 720-01-01 xxxx 1xxx xxxx (disables A.S.S. greyed out icon on dash and removes A.S.S. from menu on dash)

You only really NEED the first one. The other two just make a cleaner removal.

Instead of permanently disabling the feature, would it be possible to just re-wire the button? So that it will default to OFF, but you can still press it if you want to re-enable it?

I started this thread last February, Reversing A.S.S. switch function, specifically to try to figure out how to do that. No solution was found.

I have been using mine. Does take some getting used to, but I like the fact that for long lights I am helping out the environment. Not sure exactly how much gas I save.... As other posters have stated, the trick is in the break pedal pressure. If I know the light will be short, or ready to change, I keep very light pressure on the brake. If I know I want it to stop, more pressure right off the bat. And a second delay after I take off my foot, before I give it gas.

The extra slight delay helps to be sure there is no nut job running the light.

Do you usually leave this feature on or turn it off?

I live close and work in Washington DC so stop and go traffic is heavy most of the time.

Would like to hear if this has happened to anyone else.
I have had my truck for almost a year and the feature doesn't bother me. On really hot days I do turn it off to keep the a/c cool but otherwise I have never had a problem with it.

Doesn't bother me a bit, either. I leave it on almost all the time. It's never caused any kind of an issue with safety or stalling.
For anybody to call it dangerous is being pretty dramatic and alarmist. Either that or that person has some very strange driving habits.

This has happened twice now in my 5.0 2018.... I called my dealer service rep and he acted like he has never heard of this happening.

definitely a pain to bump the truck back to neutral and recrank the truck.

Even in a 3-1/2 year old original thread, this is worth posting again IMO:

yeah maybe a day late and a dollar short, but when the service rep played dumb, I wanted to see if anyone else had the issue and the ole google box lead me to this thread.
