Engine Auto-Start/Stop feature stalled engine?

BCM 726-48-02 x0xx xxxx xxxx (disables A.S.S.)
FCIM 7A7-01-01 xxxx x0xx xxxx (disables A.S.S. switch)
IPC 720-01-01 xxxx 1xxx xxxx (disables A.S.S. greyed out icon on dash and removes A.S.S. from menu on dash)
You only really NEED the first one. The other two just make a cleaner removal.

Instead of permanently disabling the feature, would it be possible to just re-wire the button? So that it will default to OFF, but you can still press it if you want to re-enable it?

I have been using mine. Does take some getting used to, but I like the fact that for long lights I am helping out the environment. Not sure exactly how much gas I save.... As other posters have stated, the trick is in the break pedal pressure. If I know the light will be short, or ready to change, I keep very light pressure on the brake. If I know I want it to stop, more pressure right off the bat. And a second delay after I take off my foot, before I give it gas.
The extra slight delay helps to be sure there is no nut job running the light.

I was driving today and was coming to a stop light. I did a full stop and the auto-start/stop featured kicked in. When the light turned green, I let go of the brake pedal and tapped the gas. I guess it was just perfect timing cause that transition from brake to gas pedal cause the engine to stall and I had to restart the engine. Has anyone experienced this before? Do you usually leave this feature on or turn it off?
I live close and work in Washington DC so stop and go traffic is heavy most of the time.
Would like to hear if this has happened to anyone else.

Doesn't bother me a bit, either. I leave it on almost all the time. It's never caused any kind of an issue with safety or stalling.
For anybody to call it dangerous is being pretty dramatic and alarmist. Either that or that person has some very strange driving habits.
