Its unfortunate that the Ford community is being split between the engines available in the lineup, instead of discussing how the engines are vs the toyotas, GMs, Dodges, etc....
My only advice: Don't fall for buyer's remorse! Make a decision that will stand the test of time....

There is a post about the 2018 Motor Trend truck of the year, open the link and scroll down. There is a side by side performance comparison of all 4 engines. Not quite apples to apples because of rear end gearing but close enough to give you an idea.

IMO this is how I thought about it:
2.7TT - Daily Driver
v8 - Drive it till the wheels fall off
3.5TT - If you tow/high altitude
I typically own my vehicles a long time so I went with the v8.
