I vote for this combo too.
I went with matte and gloss black. If I were to do it again, I'd do something with more contrast like the above suggestion.
I like how mine turned out, very subtle, but from afar, it just looks like a blacked out emblem or like it's missing the emblem all together.

I'd go with billet aluminum ones from Billet Badges. With a nice brushed finished in black.

I bought an overlay first to see how I liked it. The overlay fits inside the chrome oval but I think you can get a bigger one if you're looking to try things out

I'd suggest, mbullock, he's a member here that has done custom painting for a number of us. Totally flawless work.
