Electric Radiator Fan Question
I have almost 35,000 miles on my truck (5.0L SCREW). The radiator fans have started to run at odd times recently. It may coincide with a service visit I had before Christmas where the transmission was reprogrammed for the harsh 5-4 downshift. Several instances:
I start the truck in the morning with temperatures in the high 30s. I drive for several miles (40-45 mph) and briefly stop at a stop sign. The radiator fans kick on and run for several seconds. Another issue, driving on a local highway at 60 mph for several miles in 40 degree weather and exit on a ramp. The fan starts when I stop at the bottom of the exit ramp. The fans did not operate in this manner for the first 30,000 plus miles. Coolant levels OK, no obstructions, not towing and coolant temperature is fine by the idiot light.
Any thoughts?
