Default Ecoboost or 5.0?

Hey guys I currently have an 08 FX4 and I'm looking to trade it in on a new f150 this summer but I'm torn whether I want an ecoboost or the 5.0L. My work truck is a 2014 5.0L and it seems fast and it's a great all around truck. I'm looking for a daily driver but also something to mess around with both on and offroad. I do have a need for speed most days so power is a must. Have the new Ecoboosts gotten the kinks worked out since '11? I've read that an exhaust and custom tune on the turbo's get a pile of power from it?

I just traded my 2012 5.0 in for a 2015 EB. In my opinion, the EB is nicer. The power comes on incredibly smooth and there is a boat load of torque down low. I'm really glad that I made the switch.

With that being said, the 5.0 is a great engine and gave me no issues. I have nothing bad to say about it at all.

I am on my 3rd truck with the 3.5 EB and I wouldn't have it any other way.

There are enough threads here that have dealt with this subject. After you read everything you can about the pros and cons of the EB vs V8 you'll find your there is no clear choice. Go with what your gut tells you.

EB. You get that turbo whistle and great power. You get the low end torque like the diesels. I love mine so far. Wanna do a custom tune with a CAI and exhaust to mine but not sure how the warranty situation would go

If you have a need for speed and don't plan to supercharge or use nitrous then the only choice is the 3.5eb.

CAI don't void your warranty and if you tune it just make sure you put it back to stock before taking it into the dealership

I would love to SC my current truck but it's just not worth it. And with turbos you can get way more performance out of them any day

Thanks for all your opinions guys! I was leaning towards the 3.5 but I'm just scared of any issues still occurring with it. A guy from work had an '11 EB and had nothing but issues with it. I'm assuming the '15 will have all those kinks worked out but I wanted to ask an actual owner not a salesman trying to take my money

The 5.0 has far more performance potential. If you are only looking to add a tuner, you will get more gain on a 3.5 Eco. Keep in mind this years 5.0 has 25 more HP than the 2014's. And that is on regular gas.
