Default Installed New Low Beam Bulbs

Changed my Fogs to Phillips Crystal Vision 4 k white 9005 bulbs a while ago and loved the whiter look than the OEM bulbs. Even though the wattage is higher I am happy to report no issues with the Fog lenses. So while changing my grill to a Raptor grill I changed my low beams to Phillips Crystal Vision 4 K white H11 bulbs. Same wattage as the OEM bulbs. The light matched the fogs and is super white without that blue tinge. No issues with being flashed by oncoming cars.

I have read this entire thread and I m a little confused, seems numbers have changed.

Are the low beams, which are H11 still being replaced with the H9 or just to the Phillips Crystal Vision 4 K white H11 bulbs? Are the Crystal vision a higher lumen or just whiter?

What about the high beams? Changing to a 9011 or same thing; crystal vision?

Best I understand the fogs are still getting the 9005s?

I have a 17 XLT btw.

With respect my situation, I could not find the Phillips Crystal vision H9 bulb so I just changed the Factory Halogens to the Phillips Crystal Vision H11 4k bulbs for the low beams so the colour would match the 9005 crystal vision 4k bulbs in the fogs. I did not change over the high beams since I don't use them that much.

Having said that the 4k white light is really nice and there is no blue haze tinge with them. I have had them in for 2 months and have not had any flashing back despite having a 2 inch level done.

So the H11 bulbs you used are a dramatic difference from stock? Would you say worth the $$ for the new bulbs? Thanks in advance.

Definitely, the colour is the same as the 9005 bulbs I put in my fogs and they match perfectly. The oem bulbs are way more yellow than the Crystal vision bulbs. I like the output with out having on coming cars flashing me which has not happened at all. Definitely worth it, since getting LED's are too pricey right now.

I'll update with some night time pics of the lights.

For those curious H8/H9/H11 typically share similar bases/bulb sizes so you can usually swap them out. The same goes for H10/9005.

There are SLIGHT differences in the bases and wiring connectors but on a lot of aftermarket bulbs it's so small that they will fit in your existing headlights without issues.

H10/9005 will also fit in the fogs, even though I think the websites/manuals all show a different bulb size, which is hard to find. So if you can find an H10/9005 it'll probably fit. Especially if it's one that says "H8/H9/H11" or "H10/9005/etc..." as those are made with tabs that are usually smaller to fit universally (cheaper to have 1 universal bulb/socket then one for EACH size)

I am confused as well. (I’m usually not this dense but,)

This thread is kinda old. Can anyone update the part numbers? I am looking for the whitest brightest HID available lights without burning up my 2016.
