Easy Headlight Mod

HID? There are none. Not for a 2016. Not without a different style housing. HID's in your standard halogen are a bit no no. You want LED. There are lots of threads in the lighting section of this forum on various LED kits you should check out those threads. If you have your heart set on HID you'll need to install a projector housing (like the Anzos)

Well H11 is your low and 9005 is your high. H10 is your fog. I think the SilverStar are popular options for direct replacements. However keep in mind replacing your "yellowish" bulb for a "white" halogen bulb will hurt you. The white will look cleaner and on a clear night look better but with any bad weather you won't be able to see much of anything. LED's actually have the same issue only LEDs are a LOT bright and throw more lux typically with the aftermarket kits, so it's not as noticeable.
I used to work at StreetGlow and one of our most popular items, outside the neon kits, were the replacement bulbs we sold. Great upgrades but they pulled in a lot more power and required wiring harnesses for the extra power. Same concept though, they didn't perform well in the rain.
So keep that in mind when you do an upgrade. It's a lot of work to pull out the housings (your best bet with a direct bulb swap is go in from the rear of the front wheel well)

Just thought I'd chime in my input on here.
I previously had a 2016 Focus ST with the halogen headlights and decided on the H9 swap. There were concerns about heat and damage to the reflector housing, as well as the wiring. I drove home at night from work for approximately 30 minutes, 4-5 times a week and had them installed for over a year. No problems with damage to the wiring or reflectors, and never had to replace a bulb, both still worked just fine when I traded it in for my XLT.
The difference in light output was significant. Probably not as much as an HID kit would be, but to keep things "legal" but enhancing safety, this was probably the best bang for the buck considering the H9 bulbs can be had for $10 or less and minor modifications. I still haven't decided if I want to go this route with my XLT or go LED or HID. I'm OCD so I want to use the same type of bulb for my lows and fogs.
But again, for anyone doubting this mod, go for it. Worth it.

My H9 and 9011 bulbs arrived today, excited to do the swap. I understand the H11 to H9 mod, but had a question about the 9005 to 9011. Is it a mounting tab and socket mod on the 9011, or just a mounting tab?

Soooooooo 4x4TruckLEDS.com says 'H11 is your low and 9005 is your high. H10 is your fog'.
Fair enough.
Then 3 posts later detroit_fan says his '..H9 and 9011 bulbs arrived today.... understand the H11 to H9 mod, but had a question about the 9005 to 9011...'
Are these the same bulbs from different manufacturers?
Fair enough.

9011? Our trucks don't reference that at all...
9140 is what Ford officially calls for in the booklet for fog lights, which is equivalent to an H10 bulb.
H11 are your lows and 9005 are your highs.
