Easiest way to add remote start capability?
OP, I didn't have to FORSCAN anything when I installed my Start-X from Amazon. It was very easy to install and uses the factory fobs. Good luck.
Unplug wire harness from backside of ODB Port
Plug in Remote start T-Harness to back of ODB port
Plug Original harness to new T-Harness
Plug 2 wires into remote start box
Press/hold button on box
Turn ignition key on
Release button when blue light on
Turn off ignition
Press Lock-Unlock-Lock on factory fob
Truck started after about 4 seconds
Clean up/tuck wires out of the way.
Done.

srf461 – this should probably be in a new thread
I don’t know about these kits from START-X. I buy the evo all from an ebay seller who seems to sell them in volume.
A couple of questions:
You can bench forscan for now, you don’t need it for installation. Also, I think the gateway module where you connect your obd tester is shut off when the vehicle is off OR when it is in the secure remote start running state. Meaning you can’t query PIDs unless the vehicle is on normally. At least this is the case on my '18.
In order for the remote start to function, you must activate option C1 with flash link. Activate D1.10 for lock, lock, lock start. If you want lock, unlock, lock… activate D1.1. I HIGHLY recommend that you go with lock, unlock, lock because there is a security flaw…. Pressing the lock combination on the exterior door keypad 3x will cause the vehicle to start
. If you use lock, unlock, lock, you can still start the vehicle with the keypad. Lock combination + code + Lock combination, which is handy.

A couple of questions:
- What wiring diagram did you follow? Did you use a t-harness? Tell me the Fortin guide # based on this reference https://fortin.ca/en/vehicles/ford/f...-standard-key/ and make sure you change the filter under product comparison to include evo-all
- What version of firmware did you flash to evo all?
- What vehicle options did you set with the flashlink?

UPDATE: the double-honk after pressing the ignition Start button after Start-X NO HONK remote starting no longer occurs. It must have been something related to my testing steps and not doing something right. In any case, no more honk-honk!
I recently purchased and then installed the No Honk Start-X Remote Starter (
) today. Easy install and works fine, but when I remote start the truck (2017 F150) and then go to drive, when I press the Ignition On button in the vehicle to drive, the horn beeps twice. Why is this ? Would much prefer that it doesn't sound the horn, which is why I bought this particular No Honk unit. How can I fix this ? ForScan ?

So I'm going to resurrect this thread because it's the only place I can find the same thing I'm looking for. So it seems that the 2014 Ford Explorer has an option on the FORscan tool for STARTREQ_CAN and I'm trying to find the OBD2 Hex command for it and mode and PID. Should I do logging to find something like that or is there someone out there that knows where I need to go? So far I've done the dashboard/oscilloscope page on FORscan and looked at settings. It seems that I'm allowed to enable remote start but that's as far as I've gotten. (I've also updated sync lol)
Thanks for the help in advance!
